So, reddit and instagram is saying samg will no longer animate episodes. Apparently it has something to do with the movie? Do you know anything about this?
Yeah, I did hear about it.
I don’t for certain know if it’s fully regarding the movie since they’re having an entire different studio working on that, but I can probably lean to the following two reasons:
Budgets (likely going towards the movie?)
Contracts because these vary and from what it sounds like, SAMG only renewed for another year in season 3. Why they didn’t renew again can even be down to them getting involved in another project. Keep in mind, SAMG most likely has OTHER companies they do work for. So that’s a big factor.
Budgets, well. . . again, they’re doing a movie. Either they’re focusing on finishing that or maybe they got a new studio through working on the movie that will do just as good of a job as SAMG. By reading their plans for the following seasons, it sounds like Season 4 AND 5 are going to be animation heavy (powers wise), so maybe they got a studio that can deliver all of their demands a good deal.
Regarding projects for companies, It’s business at the end of the day.
