Sam/Six Headcanon ending

After the war ends, Sam and Six in their twenties finds a young human Garde girl (around 7-9) who's mute with a particularly dangerous Legacy which she can hardly control. Six takes it upon herself to teach her to control her power.

While teaching her to control her powers, they learn that the girl's only family was her grandmother - who'd passed recently which Sam suspects to be the trigger for her powers manifesting earlier than normal. Six develops a bond with her, seeing herself in the girl.

Teaching her control over her Legacy is a harder endeavor than either of them imagined due to her trauma but neither Six or Sam are willing to abandon her, so they decide to adopt her. She accompanies them on their travels, Sam homeschools her purely due to Six's schooling being spotty at best and Six works on honing her power so she won't be a danger to herself or others. In time, she slowly begins speaking again.

When Sam and Six started traveling, the first thing Six wanted to do was go to upstate New York, the last place she and Katarina lived before they were captured. She and Sam made a small memorial for Katarina, putting a flower pot with her name on it, and Six's words were: "We did it, Katarina. We lived."

The second thing they did was visit Sam's mom, who was overjoyed to know her son is safe and alive, because all the months of worrying where he is or who the Garde were made her miserable and distraught. Sam's mom insisted on having Sam stay for a while because she wants their time together to last longer since Sam is now a Human Garde and has bigger duties and can't be the same 16 year old boy he was only a few months ago. She and Six got to know each other for a while, which took some warming up, but internally Six was also savoring the moment of having a family and a home to return, a guardian to call "Mom."

Six had the experience of family bonding and also for the first time ever have a peaceful moment with Sam without danger hanging above their heads, and they both loved every minute of it. They hung out in Sam's room and see all of his alien obsession stuff, Sam's mom taught them French a bit because "your friend John, his father sounded French because of his accent, but turns out their home language sounded like French! See Sam, I told you it would've helped to be more cultured around here but you always insisted on your father's side of things instead of mine. Now you gotta learn it for your girlfriend here," and Sam blushed the whole time about it, and Six enjoyed one hearty meal after another and boy it sure did feel like home.
