An Intimate Wedding At Gramercy Park Hotel

Family Photos Matter

All of a sudden it seems everyone in my life has been affected by the loss of a friend or family member and I can’t help but think about something Samm Blake said recently in an interview on Jove Meyer’s podcast.  All too often in this wedding world we (including myself) focus on the beautiful details and stunning portraits- it’s easy to downplay the importance of the family portraits and especially the small moments caught between loved ones sharing a joke or a simple hug.  Weddings are so much more than fancy parties- they are an (often rare) opportunity to bring people together in one place at one time.  As a photographer, what bigger honor is there than to be the one asked to capture all of it?  We are so grateful to all of our clients to entrust us to be there to document their celebrations of life and love.  All photos below are from Samm Blake’s archives.

Samm Blake Joins The Collective!

Last week we welcomed Samm Blake into the Collective. Named one of the Top 10 Wedding Photographers in the World in 2013 by American Photo, Samm has proven to be one of the most dynamic, creative and inspiring photographers we know.
