It’s been a while since I uploaded regular YouTube videos and my handle across my socials doesn’t really reflect me in the way it used to. Back in the day, composing music was like my life. No kidding - three out of my six subjects in Year 11 and 12 were Music subjects. And I composed two thirty-minute pieces as two of my assessments. But after school, life happened. And by life, I mean work, bills, and adulthood.
If you’ve been following me on here for years now, you would know I composed five soundtracks for a book series called The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, as well as a number of tracks inspired by Doctor Who and Sherlock.
In fact, I used to go by the handle ThatFilmComposer yearsssss ago. But then YouTube happened and I farewelled that handle.
But I’ve been reinspired back into my music since switching from notation software Sibelius 7 to the world of DAWs (digital audio workstation) and sample libraries. It DEFINITELY hasn’t been cheap (i.e: complete motherboard and ram upgrading, buying a DAW - hello Cubase! - and then finding the right sample library to kick off with), but sometimes you’ve got to invest in yourself to light that fire of passion and creativity.
So farewell justinjonestv, it’s been real. Welcome, tonesbyjones.
I hope you guys don’t mind the change - and I knowwwww I’m like NEVER on tumblr anymore but maybe this change will bring me back.
Anyway, to finish this long and dreary post, I’ll leave you with two links that I’d LOVE for you to click.
If you haven’t listened to my new album, please do! It’s all made with these new sample libraries and it would mean the world if you checked it out. If you use Spotify, click here! And if you use another streaming service, click here!
I recently entered a competition made by Spitfire Audio and Westworld, which challenges participants to compose music for a car chase scene from the recent third season. I’d love for you to check it out here and give it a like!
I appreciate all the support you guys give! You mean the world <3
