I think the nicest thing about Carla and Samu is that we know Samu loves her fully for her, because he is trying to hate her and distance himself but he can’t. Polo was a relationship of youth that had no passion or real romantic love, and he seemed to love her for convenience and for his familial obligations, how many times did they say “our lives are mapped” after all. Christian was a relationship built on lies and money. I think he really ended up caring for her before everything else went down, but he pursued her because she was the richest and the prettiest. He had no real attachment to her, and then he was sort of being bought. But Samu goes into the relationship with Carla to sabatoge her and hurt her, and it starts as a hate fucking and enemies, but he can’t help himself, and neither can she. It’s a mutual enemies to lovers, reluctant as it may be, because they both see the other for who they really are, and they fall despite their own self interest. Carla and Samu feels right because it feels like the most honest relationship either of them have had. A relationship that was never supposed to happen, but became undeniable, because the other person ended up being so much more than they ever expected.
