Some of my silverdyne thoughts this morning❤️💞
A younger Samurai hearing their song on the radio for the first time before all the drugs and bad stuff really go ahold of them
(That’s Our Song)
Samurai was gaining more attention these day, the name Johnny Silverhand running through the streets like a wildfire. They were seeing more Samurai shirts on the streets, homemade to show support from their local gigs. They didn’t have any official merch out but was happy to sign anything people put their hearts into.
The band was currently out to get some cigarettes and drinks, a rare moment of happiness and calm between them. Nancy and Denny were talking about something and had sucked Kerry into it when a car pulled up… fucking blasting one of their songs.
The band full stopped, Johnny running into Henry by accident. The five stared at each other before rushing over, yelling at the poor driver to turn that shit up.
Kerry, with no shame, had his hand on the guy’s passenger door, head through the window. The guy turned it up so the bouncing 19 year olds would leave him alone.
They looked insane, jumping and shouting in the streets, hugging each other. Johnny picking the girls up out of pure excitement. Henry and Kerry were hugging, then switched to hug the girls and Johnny as well.
They had made it to the radio. A rock station they listened too frequently.
“And that was Samurai! A new Chromerock band on the rise! You can catch them at your local in the wall bars. Can you believe they are only like 19-“
“That’s our fucking song!” Kerry full tackled Johnny, Johnny stumbling to keep them up. His arms went around Kerry, still in a bit of shock.
Then Kerry grabbed his face, pulling him to make eye contact.
“We fucking did it! That’s our fucking song, J!”
And in that moment, everyone disappeared. In Johnny’s soul, he knew this wouldn’t be possible without Kerry.
Kerry’s smile disappeared, but the light never faded. Johnny could tell he was over the fucking moon, and Johnny wanted to keep him there. Keep this euphoric high of hearing their song on the radio. More people to hear their message, their fight.
They were broken out of their trance as Henry pulled them into a group hug, Kerry’s smiled returned and laughing. He bumped his head into Nancy’s, practically shaking with excitement.
“Hey! Are you kids alright?”
They turned, the convenient store owner must have heard their excitement and came running, and was poorly concealing his gun from them.
They looked around, knowing most people in Night City wouldn’t look at a bunch of screaming teens. But also they had been buying cigarettes from this guy since they were sixteen so really it was nice that he was worried.
Kerry shoved through their group, over the fucking moon again.
“Our song was on the radio!”
Johnny watched his band walk into the store, standing on the sidewalk alone for a moment to really soak it all in. They’re song was on the radio, people making shirts and recognizing them in the streets. Their songs being used as anthems against the corporations.
Everyone would know Samurai soon. He could feel it in his bones, they could truly win this fight-
“Hey? You good?”
Kerry stood in front of him, a bag in his hands of two packs of cigarettes, and his and Johnny’s favorite drinks and snacks. Kerry had the band’s favorite things memorized, as did Johnny.
“Yeah just uh…”
“Being stoked that our song was on the fucking radio?” Kerry grinned, playfully punching his good shoulder.
“Fuck yeah I am.” Johnny threw his arm around Kerry’s shoulders as they headed back to Henry’s truck to wait for the others to be done.
Kerry: Like I said, we need more help. Maybe I can call my friends.
Johnny: Your what?
Kerry: My friends.
Johnny: Is he saying friends?
Nancy: I think he’s being sarcastic
Henry: Nonono this is delirium, he’s cracked from being awake all night- Hey Kerry! All your friends are in this room!
Kerry: I have other friends you asshole!
There’s something so special to me about the idea of Kerry just being best friends with Denny, Nancy, and Rogue. I don’t know what it is, I don’t know why it’s so special, but there’s something about thinking about Denny coming to Kerry after her and Henry break up and he’s just doing his best to support her. Kerry going to Nancy after a fight with Johnny or to show her his new songs and her supporting him. Rogue going to Kerry after finding out Johnny’s cheating and Kerry, unsure of what to do, offers to take her on a drive so she can think it out or just talk.
Johnny; As a straight man-
Nancy: Wait wait- what did you just say?
Johnny: As a straight man.
Nancy: …So now we are just saying things?
My Bisexual ass trying to not fall in love with Samurai during Kerry’s Questline
(Samurai days)
Kerry was having a god awful week. His current squeeze turned out to be a serious dick, Johnny was grading on his nerves like no one’s business because of the squeeze, and just over all a shitty week.
He collapsed onto Nancy’s couch with a small groan, kicking off his shoes. She offered him a beer and sat with him, her body facing his.
“What’s wrong, baby?” She asked, moving some hair away from his face to see him. Kerry loved the girls in the band, they were his best friends when Johnny was being a complete dick. Kerry pretended to be Nancy’s boyfriend on multiple occasions, the two even going so far as to kiss in front of the creep that was checking one of them out.
“This has been a shit week and it just keeps getting worse. My shoes are soaked before I stepped into that hole on the way in here. I lost my keys and phone this morning, found those obviously. And Johnny is being a dick again.” He said, taking the cigarette she offered him.
“Damn, someone has it out for you.” She said, looking when Kerry went quiet. The man was leaned forward, a frown on his face. “Yeah.. I need to like cry or something.. I can go if you want.” He said softly, already grabbing his shoes.
“No no no, baby boy get your ass back here.” She said, pulling Kerry against her. “You can cry here. Safe place remember?” She said, poking Kerry’s cheek. His lip quivered a bit, tears welling in his big brown eyes. “I’m sorry..” she could see the stress in his shoulders, and realized that this ran way deeper than a shitty week.
Nancy kissed his forehead and held him closer, letting him let it out in her chest. Nancy considered Kerry to be her best friend, next to Denny of course. They were always there for each other, even in their darkest hours. Her and Johnny have gotten into screaming matches over it (most of which she won because she knew Johnny’s weaknesses).
Kerry eventually calmed down, reduces to sniffles and wiping his eyes. “Sorry.” He muttered, but she could tell he needed that.
“Rockerboy or not, everyone needs a good fucking cry in their friend’s chest at least once a month.” Kerry let out a wet laugh and nodded, sniffling again with a small smile.
