Sam's Birthday Playlist(s) Volume 2!

A collaborative playlist project for Sam's Birthday 2026

18th April - 2nd May 2026

Waaay back in 2015 I had an idea for Sam's birthday: playlists/fanmixes are a really great way of celebrating a character and so I thought why not put together one for Sam’s birthday. Here’s the difference, I didn't choose all the songs, you guys did!

This year I thought I'd bring this project back!

I want to make this a collaborative project between as many people who love Sam as possible and get as many different songs and ways of thinking about Sam as possible.

Here’s how it should (hopefully) work:

There are going to be a total of 7 different playlists created (which will also then be put into a master playlist) - 7 different themes, 7 days, over 2 weeks.

Each day you will have the opportunity to submit up to two songs to fit the theme (PLEASE ONLY SUBMIT TO THE THEME OF THE DAY - this will make my life MUCH simpler!)

Each set of songs will be collected into a playlist on Spotify and a graphic will be made to act as cover art for each mix. A link to the playlist, the cover art and a list of all the songs on it will be posted on Tumblr the following day. (If a song is not available on Spotify it will still be listed on the master post for the playlist)

On May 2nd a master post will be created with links to all 7 playlists on Spotify. (plus a complete playlist with all songs)

Please submit all songs as an ask to sambirthdayplaylist .

Put the day number followed by the name and artist of your songs, If you know the song isn’t availble on Spotify place and * next to it.

THANK YOU and hopefully we should end up with a really nice, diverse set of songs celebrating (and crying about) Sam Winchester.
