“HEY, our outfits match!”
a starter, as promised! 🍊 for @sanatsun
Woori clapped her hands together, her smile spreading across her face. “Oh, I just love Japan!” She exclaimed, nodding to seemingly make her point. With her eyes glued on the younger female, she went on to speak about her amor for the land of the rising sun. “The food, the places, the people, the clothes-- I just love it. Ah, if you’d like, and if it would make you feel more at ease while talking to me, we can also converse in Japanese! I think, despite not being able to use it as much these days, I’m not too rusty.”
@sanatsun, continued from here.
“In retrospect, that was sort of a dumb question; I found out recently that insects and fish don’t even have brains that developed the ability to feel pain -- so I’m unsure as to why I thought food of all things would.” The male mumbled aloud -- not particularly to her, but it wasn’t just to the air. Yuta turned to her, absentmindedly switching to their native tongue. “I don’t think I introduced myself to you properly. Nakamoto Yuta.” He bowed his head after glossing over introductions, and he smiled at her before he straightened up a little awkwardly. Shaking the stiffness off, he smiled sincerely when he responded. “I think I’d agree with that statement, had I not already had the gumball in my mouth. Something about saliva, dirt and sticky gum tells me I shouldn’t put it back in my mouth. I mean, I picked it up and threw it away, but--”

“But Mari-chan, think of all the names we could come up with for all the pugs!” Sana whined loudly as she continued flicking through pictures of pugs on her phone, making whimpering noises as she fell for every pug’s eyes each time. “I’m sure we can get a big discount if we buy all five hundred together!” Pouting to her best ability, Sana held the phone to Mari’s face and gave her a thumbs up with the other. “So it’s settled then? Five hundred pugs? We can name the first hundred after desserts like… strawberry shortcake, banana cream pie, double chocolate!” She squealed by just thinking about naming then and grinned in satisfaction. “We are getting a hundred pugs at least!”
Mari chuckled and raised a brow to the phone held to her face. “And where on earth are you going to keep five hundred pugs?” she asked, unamused. “And how on earth would take care of all those dogs? Feeding them? Cleaning their poop? Sounds like a serious financial commitment to me. Not to mention physically and mentally taxing...” She lowered the phone away from her face, her expression unchanged. Sana’s pouting was cute, and she did appreciate the tenacity. But it wasn’t enough to sway her.
