this was another one i wanted to do for a while, first as cybdee and then i settled on the idea of these two being more fitting. which is funnier - sancha riding a horse that looks like rodrigo, or rodrigos horse looking like him probably through no conscious decision of his own?

these two have a brief and torrid political courtship, but i do like their dynamic. they surprise one another. rodrigo is starstruck by her, and sancha is bemused and a little confounded by him. his attitude disarms her in a way that makes it harder to pin him down and find out how to keep him under her thumb

did you know sometimes youre allowed to draw a normal bust of someone and you dont have to do a full scene or the whole body or anything? and sometimes you can get kinda sketchy with it even if you feel compelled not to? am i the only one hearing of this, just now? surely this isnt common knowledge

ive only drawn sancha once before, which is a shame because imho i think shes one of the most striking of my unicorns so far. i havent thought much about her since drawing her with rodrigo, but i still think she has potential. maybe this was the portrait given to him while she scouted for a third husband? personally i would find the daisy imagery threatening given that her previous two husbands are dead under mysterious circumstances, but i dont think recipients of this portrait would be focused on that

the first meeting of rodrigo and his fiancee, sancha "the fox" osorio. from a neighboring ally state, sancha is not a necromancer, but has climbed the social ladder in no small part due to the death of her previous two husbands. NO, she DIDNT kill them, so DONT ask!!!!
