OMG you guys! I've had this for several days but been sitting on it until the other recipient got theirs but now I can yell about it!

The INCREDIBLY talented and amazing @carcrash429 bound Safe and (the) Sound as a gift for a friend and also sent me a copy!

This is such a stunningly well-made trade bind that honestly, for like half a minute I thought they'd done the typesetting and then had the printing done by a printshop (which, to be clear, would already have been extremely cool)!

BUT NO! Once I looked at it a second time, I realized the whole thing was handmade! (Listen, in my defense, my mail arrives really late and I excitedly opened the package before I even got inside so it was dark!)

I love everything about it, from the font choices to the nautical theme in the accent art to the gorgeous cover and end papers! All the gorgeous art is in there (even the saucy stuff!) and our chapter notes, and it printed so beautifully!

Also I am just crying over the thought that anyone would love a nearly ten-year-old fic enough to want a physical copy!

hello! here to say i really love nights in sandbridge and the enhancile war fics you (and 27dragon) have done. i do have a question tho. if you made a clint story in nights in sandbridge, what would it be about?

Oh, wow...

So, okay, I had a chat with @27dragons about this.

I think for Clint, we’d have to back up to him being in the circus. He and Bobbi are an on again/off again thing -- she’s a professional card cheat and a thief, so it stands to reason she’d need shady contacts to dump stolen goods, and a carnival is a good place to do that; they’re moving on to the next town, etc.

So, Lucky gets hurt in a bad circus accident and the trainer’s going to shoot the dog. 

Clint puts an arrow through the trainer’s hand, steals Lucky, and runs away.  (there is other shit going on at the circus that Clint doesn’t want to be there, really, but he’s putting up with it because of his brother and Bobbi, but Lucky was the Last Straw)

He ends up in Virginia Beach with his car, a wounded dog, no high school education, and spends a while as a pizza delivery driver and living out of his car. 

He meets Nat and Steve and gets adopted by Dockside, and then freaking terrified when Bobbi Goddamn Morse wanders back into his life... 

hmmm. having jotted all this down, it might be a fun short-novella...
