As we wrapped up October in West Virginia, @k.wilkinsonphotography and I tried to decide where to capture the last sunset in the state. With no clear location standing out, we decided to venture back to Sandstone Falls on the New River. The skies cleared, but the light on the falls and the glow behind the mountains created a nice scene. We ended up spending a couple of hours photographing here as we waited for the sun to set. These falls are impressive, spanning 1500 feet of the river and dropping anywhere from 10 to 25 feet. The mountains on each side of the river were splashed with autumn colors.
