last night i had a dream that my mum found a kitten in an abandoned house that had been turned into an andy samberg shrine and we kept the kitten (and called him archie) and the millions of photos of andy samberg, and lucas from stranger things was also our neighbour

Gender: Female

Occupation: “Bandit” Part of a group for hire, take on whatever they please. Tend to  lean towards serving ‘good purposes’ than just coin.

Race: Elf 

Markings: Scarification on right upper-arm and shoulder. Some on face.

Skillsets: 

Hedge Mage with unique skillsets within: Spirit magic, Healing and wielding air. 

Does well with bow and daggers, also manages to use a shortsword quite well. I snot a heavyweight in battle and far from a tank. Can usually be found healing her group or doing the strangest things to cause damage.

Decent on the lute and fiddle

Speaks 2 languages, although she can only write and read one, and barely read the other. The language of her home, the Anderfels and the common tongue (with an accent)

Bio:

Vilya was born in the stark and harsh desert dunes of the Anderfels to an elven woman whom soon left her on the doorsteps of an orphanage. Being , non-human, and certainly not of a highly-regarded race within the kingdom, her start was a bit harsh. That being said she quickly grew to be one of the most resourceful tykes they had around. Even though she was raised with the andrastian belief, and system surrounding her, it didn’t quite take with her. She met the systematic discrimination there just as anywhere else and it did shape her to some degree.

Mostly because her magic started to manifest itself quite early on. Not that she told anyone cause she knew this was a ‘bad thing’. Those who told, or showed any sign of being ‘different’, were all sent away and never seen again. Vilya whom had friends there, didn’t want to go. It first took the form of ‘people’. Spirits. She couldn't tell the difference, and even into adulthood she sometimes can’t. At first it was just conversations, but with time one specifically became more a tutor and guide.

The first time she healed, wasn’t herself, or an injury she got while getting herself in trouble. As young kids without parents often did. It was when a friend of hers got in a fight and ended up injured as a 14 year old. The wound was pretty bad, there was blood running down their shirt, and in sheer panic and fear the magic seemed to take it’s first hold on her. She could feel it release from her chest and flow through her arms and down into her fingers.It was like ‘it’ knew what to do, rather than her. It was almost eerie, seeing the glow emit from her hands when she grabbed for her friend’s shirt. And it wrapped itself into the fabric and flesh, and healed her.

Of course then everyone there saw it, and what she had done. So her choice wasn’t much of a choice from there on out. She remembered a guard escorted her back, in fear she might be a danger to herself or others. Her friend was taken to be looked at by a herbalist and doctor. The orphenage whom kept her of course found out. Being magical was a no-no and a hedge mage even more so, seeing all of them tended to go insane in the end.

In fear of her life coming to an end, Vilya ran away. Packed up some food, stole some coin from the main office room and made a run for it. What awaited her was a hard-life but at least it was a life. With ‘people’ and spirits as guides and tutors still she managed to gain a somewhat decent control of her powers and started to shape them to her will. However, life was not without dangers for people like her. And elf, a hedge mage, and this reflected in her as well. Becoming cautious, paranoid, turning to shady professions like theft to make a living, other times more peaceful professions like assisting fishermen by the coast, or a oddjob here and there.

Eventually she joined a group of what she first thought was wanderers. They turned out to be hands-for-hire, much like her. Their leader was a human man named Owen, and the small gathering were a odd collection of people and their skills. A Qunari run-away that used a large club as a weapon, another was a dwarf whom was an expert rogue, and so on. All in all they were roughly 7 people. 

Owen had found her one night in a tavern, after observing how she handled a couple of drunken grumps a few moments before. Even then she had a reputation as an expert thief. The nickname ‘Sandy-Andy’ had circulated for a while, since it was clear to the ones living there that she was from the Anderfels, and the anderfels, well they were Sandy. It stuck.
