three rings for the elven-kings under the sky
my original drawing
Elrond wore a mantle of grey and had a star upon his forehead, and a silver harp was in his hand, and upon his finger was a ring of gold with a great blue stone, Vilya, mightiest of the Three. — The Return of the King
I REALLY wanted this image from the book, but they decided not to do it in the film :(
After the lifting of the siege
Gil-Galad entrust Vilya to Elrond
"I'm not Viridian"
Needed to draw a little thing for what I think is one of the greatest moments in Campaign 2. When she was first introduced the thought crossed my mind, but I though "there's no way it's her." But I kept thinking about it and the reveal was just insane. I was always a little bummed that the mystery never got solved in Campaign 1 so this was just legendary storytelling. Everyone absolutely losing their minds was also incredible. Like the setup YEARS AGO of them only finding Vilya's leg and then the C2 characters meeting Viridian who is an elven druid with only one leg that's been there for 30 years is so genius. Absolutely WEPT at the thought of Keyleth reuniting with her mom and when we got to see that brief glimpse of it 😭
This is my first time finishing one of this kind of challenges🫶
"Vilya, was made of gold with a great blue sapphire. It was also called the Ring of Sapphire, the Ring of Air or the Blue Ring. Vilya was the most powerful of the three rings of the Elves. It's first keeper was High King Gil-Galad." S2.E2 ∙ Where the Stars are Strange
So, assuming that Keyleth and Vilya stayed for the wedding, and also assuming that Vax was there as Keyleth's plus-one and not out on business for the Matron...
...what are the odds that Artagan tried to give Vax one of those "worship the Traveler" pamphlets?
"A ring of gold with a great blue stone, Vilya, mightiest of the Three." BENJAMIN WALKER as GIL-GALAD in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power ▸2.01 "Elven Kings Under the Sky"
