@sangdelune: ' Pay attention to me '
"Mishaa. That's now how you get attention. Ask nicely."
@sangdelune liked for a thing!
"Hey kid --- think fast."
He tosses the apple barely a moment after all of the words escaped from him; hoping the kid would catch it okay. Then again, Misha seemed to have decent reflexes, and so he wasn't terribly worried.
Shaw sits himself down on a low stone surface close by, sinking sharp teeth into a fruit of his own. It had been a hot minute since he's seen him --- call him 'soft', but he was a bit concerned. " -- Where you been?"
@sangdelune ( Liked for a thing from Noé )
It was always difficult to talk to Misha ... well, not counting the whole 'he had almost gotten Vanitas to kill him' thing or the whole 'kidnapping his best friend and almost killing her' thing. Noé had already made as much peace as he could with that ... he had caused harm to the boy as well, and perhaps things could of all been avoided if there had been open dialogue between them that hadn't been muddled with sharpened emotions due to both Dominique and Vanitas.
... Well ... both none of that and all of that mattered right now as he took a careful breath and approached the boy a couple of feet away from him.
" --- Misha." The vampire started carefully; hesitatingly. " ... Would you ... know where Vanitas had gone? I needed to speak to him but I can't find him ... I tried looking on the roof, but he wasn't there either; which is most unusual since he's usually there in the mornings ---"
He may have been beginning to ramble.
@sangdelune asked for a Garth Starter
He'd been acting a little odd that morning - more so than normal, seeming to flinch at any sudden noise, almost seeming to be doing his best to avoid attracting any type of attention, working away silently within the kitchen, and when he wasn't cooking, he was curled up with a book infront of one of the large windows, though seemed to be watching outside more than actually reading over the book that was in his lap.
It wasn't until later in the day when he somewhat remembered that there was a human he was supposed to be caring for, that he finally approached Misha, holding up his notebook to one of the pages that had pre written questions.
Can I help you with anything?

ㅤㅤ HONESTLY, just how gullible was this kid to accepted a poisoned brownie even after being warned ?! Celine sighed in relief the moment he spit it out and she helped disposed the napkin in a nearby trashcan before she went back to tend to the poor boy.
ㅤㅤ " Are you alright ... ? I didn't think you'd actually do it after I warned you ... you're either reckless or stupidly brave ! In any case, let's head to the market before you suffer even more ! " She offered a hand for him to take so she could help guide him to the nearby market ( also to make sure he didn't collapse on the way as well ). " What sort of sweets do you enjoy by the way ? Just so I can make it up to you. I'll get you whatever you want so in exchange ... don't tell anyone I nearly killed you ! "

back, sender gives receiver a back hug. ( Sovann )
〈 ☽* 〉┊ There are times when Sovann cannot bring themself to look at him. Times when they do not see him. When instead, they see a hazy after-image of the past; a tender age where their hair would drag along the ground and they would fervently pray to a moon long since swallowed by the vast and heedless sky. In those moments, he becomes a reliquary of their own fractured trust. They could send him to sleep, reach inside, and scoop it all out. Carefully, ever so carefully, so as not to let the jagged edges of his ill-advised hope cut up his innards. Then they would stitch him back up with a thread of moonlight that no earthly device could ever cut through. He might not awaken as the exact same Misha whose head had previously lain so heavy against the pillows. That would be for the better.
Then he would not search in vain for the one who left him behind. Because when siblings leave, they do not so easily return. When siblings leave, they venture into a great beyond shaped like the jaws of a ravenous beast. And when that beast bites down, it doesn't even bother chewing before swallowing. The tissue memories are made of might stain the beast's teeth. Perhaps a scrap of clothing or a locket of hair will dangle from its drooling maw. Oh, they might cut free from the guts of their fate-- be it a chosen fate or a predetermined one --and stumble back into the realm of reunion. But siblings do not ever return once they are swallowed. How they want to grip him by his shoulders and deliver this unavoidable truth with a belabored whisper that mounts to a seething malign.
Why does he think his case would be any different? What right? Their promise of unwavering aid means nothing. They could not drag their own siblings from the precipice of ruin and rot. They had only pushed and pushed and pushed until throats gave way and last breaths gurgled into an unreachable ether. And he doesn't know. The poor little thing doesn't know. Will he do the same to them? Because, they realize with a knot tighetning somewhere beneath their sternum, they won't let go. He will have to cut himself free of their care. No, you are not my brother, he will have to say in whatever way his voice would give shape to such words, and no, a subsitution is not enough.
How cruel of them to think the same of him during those long days when they want nothing more than to hide from the sun's glare.
But then his circle around them just beneath their chest, his head rests against the center of their back, and they are warm. And they are here. And he is so earnest, so alone, the first to say their name in so, so long. Sovann closes their eyes. In the dark behind their eyelids, his heartbeat thrums against them. It's all he has. A breath slips from their lips like the whiling breeze of a dying summertime. Their hand cradles both of his.
"It's difficult being the youngest, isn't it?" they murmur. Even without further elaboration, they have a sinking feeling he'll understand what they mean. Sovann huffs. Affection, fuzzy and light, lifts their tone into something more palatable when they add, "You don't have to hold on so tight. I'm not going anywhere."
@sangdelune
"Oh! Misha, right?" Crisbell smiled softly. "It's been awhile."
This is her third time through, technically. But one had become null and void and forgotten by all, due to her going back in time. They had met up then as well, but briefly. Perhaps this time, she could take a moment to spend some time with him. After all, if she failed her task this time....
She tried not to think about it.
"How have you been?"
@sangdelune continued from [X]
Walk away. Stop getting himself involved. The kid didn't even wish to tell him about what had landed them in this situation in the first place, and he wasn't about to pry. It wasn't as though he was being any more open, was it? But he was there wanting to help, and that annoyed him. All that came from helping others was trouble. Why did he keep doing that? He couldn't lean on anyone but himself, it had been that way for as long as he could remember, and yet there he was, worrying over some human child who kept following him around like some lost puppy. Why?
"...again, your saviour seems pretty darn useless to me". He rolled over on the blankets he laid on, digging out a box from under the softer material, pulling out a small bag of snacks to toss over to them, "Here - if you want something more you'll need to go elsewhere.". He was trying not to draw too much attention to himself, and yet he couldn't deny that there was something enjoyable about not being alone to his own thoughts for a change.
"How old are you anyways?", he asked, finally sitting back upright. It didn't seem as though he was going to get peace to go for that nap anyways, and though small talk usually bothered him, curiosity won over in the end.
