kind of and kind of not really. have you read kristin cashore's graceling realm trilogy? there's this one book/character fire who isn't a conventional heroine and decidedly not like the first heroine in the series (each book comes from a different p.o.v) and people hate her for not be an active heroine and being, basically, the most beautiful person in the world (subtly, though, in ways that it becomes racist because she's a woc - black specifically - and everyone whitewashes her and its gross.) so i've been reading a lot of negative reviews for these books and that character and its annoying. also, this happens in a lot of other book reviews and i'm just tired of it. and i ranted again im so sorry

idk the entire review really rubbed me the wrong way and she was definitely TRYING to be rude so i guess that was part of it. and i am just really protective of tessa lol. & yes exactly she missed the entire point of jem’s character and his past sigh

Yeah I definitely get why people were pissed, she was trying to upset fans and she managed to do so.

I can totally agree with you being protective of Tessa, she is my favorite modern heroine along with Lois Lane. 

Maybe she will read the other books and get a better look in, or maybe not. I just wanted to look at the humorous aspect of the review to maybe cheer some fans up and remove the tension that was on the tag. I honestly laughed out loud quite a few times xD

I know exactly what you mean and I agree that her analysis of Tessa was off. I did not think Tessa was a Mary Sue when I first read Clockwork Angel, although I did get slightly irritated with both boys falling in love with her. That was the point of the story however, so I got over it. 

The thing about Tessa not using her powers was true, but I thought she had missed the point that the reason Tessa did not use them was because she felt inhuman just at the knowledge of them and that using them only furthered her feelings of complete isolation from all that she had ever known.

The part that got me was that she had strung Charlotte, Henry, Thomas and all the other characters together at the end—but I understand why. They are explored better over the other books and in Clockwork Angel we do not get a true look at them. Yet, I felt we got to enough to see the potential of who these characters could be. Obviously, she didn't.

I wasn't annoyed reading it I guess because a lot of it I could see where she was coming from. If she has only read the first book, then a lot of her opinions were validated because Clockwork Angel really does only work as an introduction to most of the furthered plots and characters. She was a bit venomous in parts and seemed to be trying to get a rise from the fans - that I did not like - but in all most of what she said was justified. 

Main wrong points for me were:

Tessa is not a Mary Sue

Jem was not ruined by his illness

At least she liked Jem, but to say he was ruined by his illness clearly showed a lack of understanding his character. The whole point to Jem is that he is bettered by his illness and that his strength of character truly shines through his attitude and love despite all that has happened to him.
