who is more likely to hurt the other? jim’s more likely to hurt bones. sure, bones is bitter and ornery and can say some hurtful things, but he’s so cautious about not hurting jim because he knows what it’s like to be hurt, and because he’s so desperate not to lose jim because jim is the sun that lights up his sky and his life would be nothing but darkness without him.who is emotionally stronger? jim. bones has a pretty hard shell protecting him, but it’s surrounding a broken and emotionally compromised man. jim feels everything so strongly, lets himself feel everything so strongly, but takes all of it. He’d carry the world on his shoulders, given the chance.who is physically stronger? Bones can certainly manhandle Jim, no question, but if he wanted to, Jim could kick Bones’ ass.who is more likely to break a bone? Jim. who starts putting up decorations in october? Gavin wouldn’t normally, but if Tom mentioned anything about hating how early people get into Christmas stuff, Gavin would go all out.
who buys the advent calendars? I feel like Tom would? If Gavin were put in charge of advent calendars, he’d get the vodka advent calendar.
who places mistletoes all around the house? Gavin would put up like one. Or not even put it up, but just hold it over his head. To which Tom would probably roll his eyes and like, bat it out of his hand. Maybe burn it. Unless he’s in one of those random alarmingly good moods, in which case he’d actually kiss him.
who wraps the presents for other people? Gavin is half decent at wrapping presents, but most of the time his thought process is “why not just put it in a bag?” Tom is hilariously bad at wrapping presents. When Willa was young, he always had Chuck do it (bc my boy is good at wrapping presents) and for Chuck, either got it somewhere where they do gift wrapping, put it in a gift bag, or decided to have Willa do it and that way if it’s badly wrapped, it’d be cute because it was a child who did it.
who puts the final star/angel on the top of the christmas tree? Gavin. And he’d point out that it’s because Tom is short. And probably get smacked.
who’s the one that hates eggnog? Tom. He makes that face. You know the one. Gavin has no qualms with it, as long as there’s alcohol in it.
who’s the one that bakes christmas cookies for guests? “”””””””Guests”””””” Please. But as much as Tom cooks and likes cooking and whatnot, I feel like Gavin would be way more into baking the cookies and decorating them with Willa. (Chuck would join in but he’s too busy blowing his husband before they leave the apartment so he misses out on the fun.)
who sends out the christmas cards? Gavin’s name and face are on his family Christmas cards, but he’s not really the Christmas card type. Unless he finds one with a really stupid joke on it to get for Dean.
who knows all the words to twelve days of christmas? I feel like either they both do and Tom pretends not to, or Tom actually doesn’t know all the words, despite how many times he must have heard it over the years with Chuck and Willa.
who’s the better snowman builder? They would both get a little competitive about it without flat out saying they were competing. But it would turn out Gavin is actually better. Tom would not admit it though.
who starts snowball fights? Tom. Because Gavin needs snow thrown at him for being better at building snowmen.

who places mistletoes all around the house? Again, Bump. (Maybe Scottie mentions it in passing and Bump like, internally gasps and decides that there needs to be mistletoe in the most random places and that they should have a Christmas party so that this mistletoe can best be utilized.)
who wraps the presents for other people? I feel like Mike is surprisingly good at wrapping presents and like, one person finds that out and asks if he’d be willing to wrap this present they have for someone, and he says yes, and then another person asks and he’s like “eh, why not” and then he ends up with like half the people in his philosophy class dropping presents on him to have him wrap them for their significant others, parents, room mates, etc.
who puts the final star/angel on the top of the christmas tree? Bump tries to and knocks over the entire tree because he couldn’t quite reach the top and instead of getting a step stool, he decides to try getting a running start and jump to get it up there. Then Mike and Scottie pick everything up and re-trim the tree. Bump was helping at first, and then ended up passing out on the couch. Scottie tries to get it up there but he’s just shy of getting it on, so then Mike leans in to give him a hand.
who’s the one that hates eggnog? Mike loves it - especially with nutmeg and just a hint of schnapps. Bump fucking loathes it and when he finds out Scottie has somehow never had egg nog he tells him he is a lucky person and should avoid it at all costs. But Scottie tries it anyway because who the fuck listens to Bump, and Mike watches him, trying to hide the fact that he’s actually???? Really excited???? Because he gets to watch Scottie try it for the first time???? And Scottie thinks, y’know, Mike seems to like it, so it can’t really be that bad, right? Wrong. He doesn’t understand why anyone would ever want to put it in their mouths. Ugh.But he forces a smile onto his face and when Mike asks him, looking all hopeful, his big brown eyes shining, Do you like it? He nods and gives a little “mhmm,” not having actually swallowed it yet. And then when Mike isn’t looking, he spits out what’s in his mouth and ends up tossing the remnants of the (thankfully small) glass into the ficus.
who’s the one that bakes christmas cookies for guests? Scottie. He even has a holiday apron and oven mitts.
who sends out the christmas cards? They both do. (And then Bump ends up signing the one for Mike’s cousins too) Scottie’s have cute little heartfelt messages, and Mike’s are either pretty generic Happy Holidays! shit, or have like a fucking essay length message, complete with a dad joke or too. (The long ones are saved for people like his parents, Lucy, Janine, Janice, and even Ann Marie. Erica is also familiar with these cards, but doesn’t get the long heartfelt ones anymore.)
who knows all the words to twelve days of christmas? Scottie knows all the words. Mike can get through most of it, but flubs the order on the last few. (And then you have Bump who knows even less than Mike, but will still sing it at top volume with more enthusiasm than I will ever be able to muster in my life. You would hate it.)
who’s the better snowman builder? Mike. Scottie’s is admirable. (They have a brief moment commending each other on their snowmen, and Mike, like, fixes the nose so it looks less crooked. And then the moment is ruined when a half drunk Bump crashes into both the snowmen, then attempts to fix them. Then laughs because ti ends up looking like a pair of snow boobs.)

who’s the one that wakes the other on christmas morning by playing christmas songs really loudly? Bump wakes them both up (and probably at least one neighbor) by blasting christmas songs at like six thirty Christmas morning. Scotty kind of makes a face for like, five seconds, before yawning, pulling on a Christmas sweater and Christmas socks, and heading downstairs. Mike just pulls the blanket around him and shuffles after Scottie. By the time they get down there, Bump is already asleep again. Scottie sighs and says he’ll get started on breakfast. Mike mumbles something about coffee.
