These bergamots, gifted to us last year as tiny little saplings are finally starting to spread their wings. These Mata Kuching sprouts look so happy! In the Bahasa Malaysian language, “mata” means “eyes” and “Kuching” means “cat”. The fruit actually looks like a cat’s eye when you peel off the skin and expose the dark seed under the flesh.
