Halloween request. Drabble for carving pumpkins with Bucky Barnes please :)

Title: Pumpkin Carving 🎃

Bucky smiled fondly as he saw you struggling to carve the pumpkin. Deciding to help you out, he gently lay his hand over yours.

“Here” He told you, dedicating you a smile when you looked up at him. “Let me”

“Thanks” You stood up and he took your place in the chair.

Using his metal arm, Bucky continued carving the pumpkin, following the lines you had previously drawn on the surface as a guide. He was stronger and more precise with that arm, and you were glad the pumpkin would look better thanks to him.

“What do you wanna do later?” You leaned closer to him, hugging him from behind from your standing position. “Go trick or treating” 

He smiled again, even wider. His hands were getting dirty with the pumpkin guts, so when he reached out to place his long hair away from his eyes, you did it yourself. Once his bangs were secure behind his ears, the smile spread to his eyes as he silently thanked you with his glance.

“I prefer watching a horror movie here with you” Tenderness and softness exuded from his whole persona, like every time you were around him. Even on Halloween. “That way I can protect you from it” 

“Deal” As he focused on finishing carving the pumpkin, you reached out to kiss him in the cheek. You could tell it had distracted him of his task for a moment, especially since he couldn’t stop smiling.

headcanon for being Peter Parker's older sister and dating Bucky, but Peter doesn't find out until Civil War

Being Peter Parker’s older sister, and him finding out you’re dating Bucky during Civil War:

Being a vigilante type hero, just like your brother, except you protect a lot more places than just Queens

Catching Tony’s attention long before he notices your little brother, and Tony recruiting you now and then for small missions

Meeting the rest of the team through Tony, and him introducing you to Steve

Being involved when Bucky first resurfaces and helping take down the infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D. with Steve, Natasha and Sam, and helping Steve afterwards track Bucky down

Bucky, even through his fragmented thoughts and confusion, almost immediately takes a liking to you

He loves how patient you are with him, how you try help him piece his memories together with Steve

And despite the hectic events going on, Bucky blurts out his feelings to you because he can’t hold them back

Meanwhile, Peter is completely unaware about what you’re up to when you’re not at home

He doesn’t even know that you’re a part-time member of the Avengers, he just assumes maybe you’re in Brooklyn, which is why he never sees you around while he’s patrolling the neighbourhood

So when Tony comes to recruit him, Peter is more than surprised when Tony mentions you

“You ever been to Germany?” “No.” “Oh, you’ll love it.” “I can’t go to Germany!” “Why? y/n will be there.” “She’ll… y/n… what?” 

Tony recruits Peter partially for his abilities, but mainly as a tactic against you, because when the Accords became a point of conflict amongst the Avengers, Tony knew that Steve would get you onto his side

And maybe if your little brother was on the other side, you’d have second thoughts

Needless to say, you’re not please when Peter makes an appearance at the airport

If anything, it makes you even angrier, because you’ve always been protective of Peter even though he can handle himself, and the fact that the man who was supposed to be your teammate is putting him in a position of danger upsets you

“Really, Tony? Dragging my little brother into this? That’s low, even for you.” “I don’t know what else to do to get you to listen.”

Peter noticing how close you’re standing to Bucky, and how oddly protective you are of him, and him being confused as to exactly what’s going on

“y/n, what are we doing? Why are we fighting on different sides?” “I’m sorry, Peter, but I’ve picked my side. I love Bucky, and I know he’s innocent. But there’s still a chance for you to make the right decision.” “Wait, you… you and Bucky?”

Peter doesn’t know how to process the information, because he also doesn’t know how to believe about Bucky’s innocence, and Peter wasn’t exactly caught up on all the details

Perhaps under different circumstances, he might be able to be happy for you, but for all he knows, Bucky is a very dangerous man and he isn’t particularly comfortable with you dating him

But there’s not much time to debate about your relationship before you’re forced to fight each other

You were taking a year off before you went to college

You’d told your mom that it was because you wanted a break from school

And that was true

But money was a little tight

And if putting college off for a year meant that your family could breathe a little easier, so be it

So you got a part time job at the place that your mom worked

Mainly weekends and evenings so she could be with Will

It had been slow at first during the beginning of the school year

Until just around Halloween when some leather-clad, mullet wearing guy walked in

It felt like everything had dropped out from underneath you

Silently, you thanked whatever heavenly being was smiling upon you because you were the only cashier in the place

He looked over to you, the smirk that had been on his face growing at the sight of you

He wandered through the aisles, but the shelves were low enough that you could see him glancing over to you every so often

Your heart was pounding in your ears

When was the last time you’d seen someone as cute as him?

Steve, maybe, but he didn’t count

You could still remember the time in kindergarten when he’d shit himself right in front of you

Stuff like that kind of kills the attraction

“Isn’t it kinda early for this place to be dead?” His voice jarred you from your thoughts

“It’s Halloween night. Why would anyone be here?”

He chuckled

Your stomach dropped

He placed a package of red plastic cups on the top

“Party tonight?” You were proud of yourself, your voice didn’t waver once

“Yeah, at, uh… shit, I forget her name.”

“I know who you’re talking about. It’s Hawkins, there’s only one big Halloween party.”

“You going?”

“Does it look like I’m going?”

He took the opportunity to look you up and down

You could almost feel the way his eyes slid down your frame

You couldn’t breathe

“You look just fine to me.”

The smirk on his face told you that he wasn’t talking about the party

You shook your head and laughed softly, ringing him up

“That’ll be three dollars.”

“You sure you’re not going to the party tonight?”

“I think I’ll pass. High school parties aren’t really my thing. There’s too many kids around.”

He leaned forward, smirking even more

“You think I’m a kid?”

“I think you should pay me.”

He fished the money out of his pocket, shaking his head slow

“What’s your name?” He asked as he handed over the money

“Y/N.”

“It’s nice to meet you, Y/N. I’m Billy. Billy Hargrove.”

It was his voice that did it, the way it dipped down

It was then that you knew that you were done

You were woken up with painful cramps in your abdomen. You groaned and curled up, trying to make the pain leave without having to get up.

You glared over at your calendar with squinty, sleep crusted eyes. Today was marked with a red dot that sent dread through your already stressed body.

Unfortunately you couldn't stay in bed forever or you'd stain the sheets and your clothes. "God I hate having a period." You growled under your breath as you padded over to the bathroom.

You were half tempted to text your boyfriend and ask if he could come over. He alway helped you feel better. But then you paused when you realized there was a huge problem with texting Jasper right now.

If Jasper smelled the blood on you right now there was no telling what he'd do. There was no way you could allow that to happen.

You'd have to find a way to avoid your boyfriend for at least four days.

But how could you keep him away for more than a few hours? Jasper loved pending as much time as possible with you.

You decided to take a bath before worrying about that. The longer you took in telling him you were awake, the longer you had to come up with a plan.

After your bath you felt refreshed and ready to take on the day. Thankfully it was now summer so you didn't have to worry about being late for school.

You started pacing around your room, combing your hair to help you think. "Okay, so I could tell him I'm going out of town for a week- but then Alice would see that I lied. I can't just tell him not to come over, he'd think it was strange and would come over if he didn't have an explanation." You frowned. Thi was going to be harder than you though.

"Maybe you could just tell him what's going on?" A familiar voice suggested.

You scoffed and shook your head. "No way. That's embarrassing." Your eyes widened in alarm and you turned to see Jasper standing there, eyebrows raised.

"Alice told me you were going to try avoiding me and suggested I come talk to you." He explained without you even needing to ask. He frowned, the sight making your heart ache. "What did I do wrong darling?"

You instantly felt bad, as you always did whenever Jasper blamed himself for something. You shook your head quickly and crossed your arms, feeling uncomfortable now that you had no choice but to tell him.

“I got my period. I didn't want to make you uncomfortable because... well you know." You looked down, embarrassment taking you.

Suddenly you were in his arms and he hugged you close. "You are the sweetest thing I have seen in my existence." He chuckled and kissed your forehead. "Period blood doesn't affect vampires the way normal blood does. It's not the same. But you are too kind to care like that."

You relaxed and smiled up at your boyfriend. "Really? That's amazing. I really didn't want to avoid you for a week." You sighed out in relief.

"Like I'd allow that."
