Fic: One of the Loft Kids (or each of them!) receives an unexpected visit from one of their parents.
One for Willow!
Sometimes it’s just the way that this job goes, being a spy.
She gets home the night before her birthday, and Joey and Jamie have left on tour, while Maria is it a bio-chemistry conference in Denmark.
So Willow Eleanor Bartowski does what any sensible Bartowski would do. She gets a good night’s sleep, and in the morning, she buys a barrel of cheese puffs, and the new Bioshock she hasn’t gotten to play yet, and settles in on the loft’s squishy red couch.
It’s noon when the doorbell rings, and she groans, pausing the game. “Coming!” She pays no mind to her messy hair, or the cheese dust all over her tank top and shorts, and when she slides the door open she instantly regrets that.
Because Sarah Walker Bartowski always looks flawless, and today, as she stands on her daughter’s doorstep, is no different.
“Mom!”
Her mother beams. “Surprise. Happy birthday.”
Willow squeaks and hugs her tightly. “Hi! You’re here! What are you doing here?”
“It’s your birthday, and I know your friends had gone out of town,” Sarah says. “And we haven’t spent your birthday together since before you left for college, so I decided to surprise you.”
“Aww. Mom.”
“So. I’ve made lunch reservations at Tavern on the Green, and I thought after that we could do some birthday shopping, and I got us theater tickets for tonight.”
Willow blinks and then looks down at herself. “Uh…”
Sarah laughs softly. “Go shower and change. I’ll wait.”
