So the sum total of bringing Artie to New York for these episodes has resulted in him getting mugged in the subway and getting an STD. Wow, if that's what RM does for his favorite characters, I'd hate to see what he does to ones he doesn't like.

Wow.  That is so not pure genius. That's a man who's desperate to hang onto whatever audience he has left by giving a bunch of vague promises that he'll never live up to anyways (as is always the case with him).  This smells like what he was talking about before season four as being revolutionary, and we saw what kind of a mess that ended up being.  It's so apparent that there's just no plan going forward at all, they're going to throw everything at the wall and see what sticks.  It's laughable at best, and insulting at worst.

Unless you mean he's a genius at trolling people, in which case yes he's a master. :P

How I Met Your Mother Alternative Ending

To me this is how the show should have ended. THIS IS GENIUS

The major drop in the show’s ratings has nothing to do with Blam or the newbies, and the high ratings in the beginning had nothing to do with Finchel and all the “talented” originals. It’s simply because the show was new and full of potential back then, and now the novelty has worn off. It happens with just about every TV show. Stop blaming/giving too much credit to the actors.

That is such a cop-out.  Yes, show ratings usually decrease over time, but nowhere near the loss of viewers that Glee has had since it's heyday.  You're talking 10 million viewers down to a show that can barely sustain 2.6 now?  And couldn't even hit 3 million for a highly publicized 100th episode that brought back as many past stars as it could?

That speaks to a much larger problem, namely that the show has screwed up time and time again with its decision-making and planning for the future. It has never had a plan from season two onward, they've been throwing crap against the wall to see what sticks ever since.  From not fully having a clue who was graduating until basically the end of season 3 to not knowing what they were doing for a format in season 4 and extending the school year into season 5 because of too many filler episodes... it's been a mess for most of its run.

But the fact that it's lasted this long is a testament to the show's cast and how popular THEY are.  At this point, the only audience the show has left are tuning in for the few characters/actors they're still choosing to highlight, although they still seem to be pitting them against one another too.
