Snark Sunday Seven...

1. Since I have some time before I find out if I am a lucky stand-by flyer, I figured I’d write this. 2. My first meet-up was awesome…more than I ever expected and some. Michele did an awesome job…so awesome! 3. All the cliches you hear people say about meet-ups are so true…the night and weekend flies by, everyone is so nice, take many, many pictures, the internet are such good people, etc. 4. Jen & Tracey let me be their shadows…that was so nice! 5. NYC is big…really big. 6. I drank so much but did not say but one or two stupid things…that is a big-time win for me. 7. I want to go home and see my family so bad, but I love the people I met this weekend and am lucky to have them as new members of my family.

I know. At least she won’t be in pain anymore. I might be able to turn this into a positive thing. We’ll see. Thanks for the hug!

Thanks, Les. Yes, writing does help because it gets the thought out of my head and somewhere else so I don’t have the thought anymore. I feel much better now than I did when I wrote that post, and I know it’s because I have great friends here and elsewhere, but also because I wrote it out.

roses and thorns

today, sarcastickunt posted that she's starting a traditions of posting "roses and thorns" daily, because, as she eloquently put it, "it's nice to write about the favorite part of your day, but you should also embrace the crappy parts, too." i like to end on a high note, so i will start with my thorns and conclude with my roses.

thorns:

i now have "every rose has its thorn" by poison stuck in my head now and i hate that song

my house is a pit and i despair of ever having the energy to keep it clean as a habit

i sort of want to lose about ten pounds but i don't want to change my eating habits or exercise more, so i'll just buy some new jeans

i have a bunch of way overdue things to do with finances and house maintenance and i'm overwhelmed

roses:

i have way more roses than thorns today

i got an email from the executive director of my agency today telling me i'm awesome (to paraphrase) and asking if would be interested in doing what i do here at another program part of the time for more money

my boss's resignation and open job was posted today and i am going to apply for it

one of my coworkers sent an email to the HR director "nominating" me to fill the program director position (my boss's job) saying i would be awesome at it

i just talked to my mom and she is planning some kick-ass family vacations

i am wearing new clothes that i like a lot

i had a nice long shower and i am feeling fresh as daisy
