something something will being targeted by the demogorgan in episode 1, then by the mindflayer throughout s2, then still connected to the mindflayer in s3, something something... once will gets to hawkins he absolutely will be targeted by vecna. it's inevitable. he's always been the one with the strongest connection to the upside down, and it's never left him.

"the gate was only half of the equation, but location was the other half." vecna's victims can only fall under his curse while in hawkins, so once will gets there, he'll be easy bait. years of unresolved trauma plus a strong connection to the upside down? he's the perfect target.
