Oh boy guys. Here's a throwback for you! 🍃 Story time: I haven't been competing with my cosplay for very long. It took me years to come out of my shell and work up the guts to sign up and do it. I literally watched con masquerades for YEARS, dreaming of being a part of one. Honestly, watching the @sabotencon 2014 masquerade inspired me to finally get out there. SO, I made this Saria from Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Hand dyed all the fabrics and wig, and made the belt and boots from scratch. It's fun to wear and I'm so proud of it. I entered it at a small anime con in AZ called Connichiwa in 2015. This weekend changed my life. That sounds silly but it's the truth. Competing in masquerades is how I met most of my cosplay friends! We bonded through the artistry and craftsmanship of costume making and now I've done many cosplay groups through which I've made even more amazing and talented friends. I'm so glad I decided to throw Saria together last minute that year and just have fun in the competition. I entered as Novice and got a judge's award from @likovacs! So fun, so life changing. It's addicting competing in convention masquerades. I love the challenge of one-uping myself every time, lol. I love love love the people I get to meet and the costumes I get to see up close.
