need book and movie elphaba to swap places at some point after shiz. cuz movie elphaba deserves a month to just chill out with sarima and raise her monkeys and attack bees. she would take one look at liir and be like "that's not my son i don't have a son," but she also probably wouldn't forget about him in a well for multiple days. which makes her better than book elphaba, who will not claim him as her son and forget about him in a well

book elphaba would take one look at fiyero and be like "that's not funny. you're not fiyero. fiyero's not white" and no amount of convincing would make her believe otherwise and she does not appreciate this attempt at humor, especially since he's wearing a gale force uniform. and glinda's, like, working for the wizard in this world, which pisses her tf off but she's still weird about glinda because elphaba can't not be weird about glinda. and also everyone in this universe sings

Before reading Wicked the book I knew Fiyero had a wife called Sarima and she had a lot of sisters, but I didn't know their names, I assumed it was one of those things where characters are not important enough to be discussed much; but no, these women are literally and canonically nameless, they are only ever referred by birth number

For this reason, I like to point out they don't have names when I discuss them

It is racist that Fiyero and his family are made to suffer just to cause Elphaba white savior pain.

She and her family, except for Nessarose, are very much white in the book, with Nessarose the white-passijg but mixed race exception.

This is very much a form of white saviorism.

Black and brown characters being made to suffer to make a white character sad.

If you're tired of female characters suffering to cause manpain, you should also be tired of Black and brown characters suffering to cause whitepain.

The white saviorism is just absurd. She is literally allowed to keep the entire castle to herself for at least seven whole goddamn years with not a single complaint from any of the actually indigenous people who'se land she's on.
