heres the rundown. EEEEE im so excited to actually get this started without those god awful designs (shivers ), yes I redesigned the cast.
nothing Ever happens here
This is a new ask blog for a story I’ve been quietly stewing in my brain for a while, and it’s finally time to get it out into this world lol.
The story takes place in the 2010s, in a very small, very church-centered town. The kind of place where everyone knows your parents, and your business. The kind of town you visit your grandparents in and feel like you've gone back in time.
The main character is Kris Da'costa. A short, prickly little gremlin of a teen who insists they’re fine while absolutely not being fine. This is a story about growing up feeling wrong, finding new interests, reconnecting with people you’ve drifted from, and realizing that some secrets don’t stay buried just because you want them to.
Enter Sasha Stevens, the new girl in town. Loud, rough around the edges, unapologetically herself. She doesn’t just cause ripples in this conservative community ,she crashes straight through it, and straight into Kris’s life.
There will be drama. There will be angst. There will be romance. ( I wont go to far on that last part, I'm not THAT kind of artist lol )
This blog will explore the characters’ lives, relationships, and bad decisions through asks, short scenes, and visuals.
Character designs for our two main idiots are below ⬇️ Ask away. Nothing ever happens here.
this town is boring. ask us things.
this is the link to the blog goo check it out, I'll be posting the prologue here in a bit, still finishing it up. then I'll be ready for asks!!!
They say it like it's a fact. Like gravity. Like if something did happen, it’d have to be crazy.
This town is small in a way that feels on purpose. Church signs on every corner, the same five last names on half the mailboxes, people who know what your mom wore to her wedding and for some reason keep bringing it up…. It's the kind of place you’d visit on a road trip and see a bunch of grandmas or southern moms, no in between. The kind of place where rumors travel faster than cars and never fully die.
Kris has lived here long enough to know how it works. Kris is very good at being overlooked. They sit in the same seat in every class, keep their head down, and answer questions only when called on. Teachers describe them as quiet. Classmates describe them as… something. No one ever agrees on what. Which works out.
Because when lockers jam or announcements mysteriously glitch or the fire alarm goes off right before a quiz, no one looks at Kris. They’re too polite. Too inconsequential. The weird kid everyone knows but isn't friends with. Kris doesn’t do it all the time. Just when they feel like it. Bored, in a mood you name it there's been a reason. And so far they haven't been caught.
There are people they don’t talk to anymore. Streets they avoid without really thinking about it. November Holm still smiles at them in the hallway like she’s hoping something will go back to how it was. Kris doesn’t let it.
“Hey,” she says waving. “Hey,” Kris mutters, already walking away.
Some things break and don’t get fixed. Some people leave and don’t come back.No one likes to talk about that part.
Then Sasha Stevens shows up.
She arrives loud. Taller than most of the teachers. Built like she knows how to throw a punch and enjoys it. Her truck sounds like it’s actively angry about being alive. She swears too much, laughs too loud, and doesn’t care when people stare. Especially not then.
She ends up in Kris’s English class, which feels like a joke. Sasha spends most of the period tapping her pencil, talking over the teacher, and staring at Kris like she’s trying to start something. She probably is.
Kris ignores her. At first, until….
“Stop pretending you don't notice me. Quiet kids like you piss me the fuck off,” Sasha blurts out. Huh, Kris didn't even realize she was standing right next to their desk. Sasha smirks and flicks Kris's forehead. “ What? Just gonna stay quiet, what are you? Scared?”. Kris rolls their eyes. “ I notice you. You're loud, dumb, and desperate. Good combo.”
“Keep talking that shit and ill shut that smart mouth for you.”
Sasha is suddenly right there, way too close. Her shoulder slams into Kris’s desk, knocking it back just enough to make the whole room jolt. “ oh, i can't wait,” Kris mocks, even though their pulse is already kicking. “Please. Go ahead. Show me your might.”
From the back class president basil snorts. “Oh, this is gonna be bad.”
Sasha swings. Fast. too fast to think about. Kris barely gets their arms up in time, the impact rattling straight through their elbows and into their teeth. Someone shouts. The teacher's voice cuts in, thin and useless. Kris doesn't stop. They duck, stumble, feel a hand grab their sweater and miss. Desks scrape. Papers hit the floor. The room blurs.
The fight spills into the hallway, kris bolting before it gets worse.
“GET BACK HERE, MOTHERFUCKER!!” Sasha yells. A locker dents with a metallic bang as Kris dodges past it, heart pounding, laughing a little because of course this is happening now. That's as far as it gets. The coach barrels out of the gym like a linebacker, grabbing Sasha by the arm and hauling her back. She twists in his grip, looking over her shoulder.
Kris and Sasha's eyes meet
“PRINCIPALS OFFICE. NOW!!” he barks. Kris watches her get dragged away, their eyes never parting till Sasha clears the corner. They make a mental note of oh you’re easy. Imma play every prank in the book and make you look stupid.
Sasah, still fighting the coach’s grip, can't get that smug look from Kris out of her head.
You won’t have a day of peace while I'm still here, you little shit.
Everyone in town keeps saying nothing ever happens here. They're wrong. They just haven’t been paying attention.
After four other families, it’s time to move on to a character we haven’t officially met yet… Sasha, our Hero MC, along with her wife Eva and their family!
(CIU Kids Masterpost)
Eva Esperanza and Sasha Stevens (Note: Eva never got a last name in canon so I gave her one here)
Following Sasha’s return from the Prism Realm in Summer 2019, she and Eva settled back in Northbridge, resuming their moonlighting jobs as the heroes MidKnight and Minuet respectively. They were married less than a year later, with Alyssa serving as Sasha’s maid of honor (the two of them and Ian had all grown quite close during their time trapped in the Prism Realm). Eva picked Kenji as her man of honor, and Kenji also took on the role as self-appointed event coordinator. This resulted in a much more expensive (and wild) reception than the couple had requested, but it didn’t come as much of a surprise given Kenji was… well, Kenji.
Eva: After the Prism War, Eva had made up her mind to apply for college. Shortly after the wedding, she was accepted at Hartfeld and immediately started working on pursuing a law degree, which Sasha was incredibly supportive of. Eventually, she would succeed in her career goal and become a successful lawyer. Of course, she never once stopped her work as Minuet, even after her secret identity had stopped being a secret. She could frequently be found prowling the streets of Northbridge at night, alongside either her wife MidKnight or her best friend The Mighty Talos, putting any would-be evildoers in their place.
Sasha: Though Sasha at first struggled to decide what she wanted to do with her life (seeing as Prescott Industries was currently a shattered, twisted ruin in the center of Northbridge), a career path opened up shortly following the Prism War when the newly renamed High Council of the Eight Attunements announced they needed a Space-Attunement Councilor. Given that Sasha herself was the only known Space-Att in existence at that time, she didn’t exactly have much competition for the role, and so she accepted. Adjusting to the Stoicheal Realm was difficult at first, but she eventually got used to it, especially given the chance to work side-by-side with Alyssa and later Atlas. Another mystery she had grown curious about was her lack of a sibling: not just the Luxen and Czasa twins, but every known Sourceborn throughout recorded Attuned history had come in pairs of twins. Sasha thus made it her personal mission to find her missing twin and bring them home… but that’s a story for another time.
Jordan Marcello Esperanza-Stevens: Having grown up seeing firsthand how much happier her presence had made her adoptive mother Rochelle, Sasha knew she eventually wanted a child or two of her own. After several long discussions with Eva, she agreed. Sasha chose to carry the child herself, and they chose for the donor someone who would provide a sort of “pseudo-connection” to Eva as well. When their son Jordan was born, the couple elected to keep the identity of the donor a secret until and unless Jordan himself ever grew curious. Eva and Sasha enjoyed their time with little Jordan immensely. When Alyssa called Sasha up one day to warn her that Jordan would likely experience his Awakening very soon, she didn’t know what to make of it… until a few weeks later, when the little boy tugged on a locked door and accidentally ripped it clean off of its hinges! Thankfully, this was an easy fix, and they soon adjusted to Jordan’s abilities as a Space-Att Prismic… until, to everyone’s astonishment, he experienced a second Awakening. A ball he was playing with was rolling down the driveway and onto the street when he reached out a hand and sent the ball flying back in reverse right back to his hand. For the first time in all of recorded history, a child had been born with two Attunements: Space and Time.
This presented no end of challenges for Jordan’s mothers to adapt to. Jordan’s skills with his Time-Attunement soon outclassed even Eva’s, and the number of times they needed to call Alyssa or Ian for help handling time-related shenanigans increased as Jordan grew older. Eventually, the Czasa twins got involved in helping train Jordan to get more control over his time abilities just as Sasha had already been helping him with the space ones.
In terms of personality, Jordan was a boy who loved the spotlight, particularly when it came to athletics. He was always finding ways to stretch the rules of whatever sport he played in order to win, which necessitated the Northbridge Junior Soccer League rulebook being completely rewritten fifteen times. Including the infamous repeatedly edited rule:
Utilizing Prismic abilities to teleport the ball
the ball and the opposing team’s players
the ball and other players on either team
the ball, other players on either team, or
and/or oneself is prohibited.
Eva and Sasha decided he needed a place where he wouldn’t always be the biggest fish in a small pond, and so they enrolled him at Berry High, where his fellow Prismic Mike would be starting school as well. Although the two boys had drastically different personalities, they bonded quickly over being the first Prismic classmate either had ever had. When Olivia transferred to the school near the start of junior year, Jordan was quick to welcome her as a friend. As she was growing clearly uncomfortable with all the attention on her during her first day, Jordan quickly stepped up to make a distraction of himself to take the attention off of her. From this moment onward, the two would be friends for life.
("Marcello" is Eva's father's name in CIU canon, hence Jordan's middle name!)

Noah Kenji Esperanza-Stevens: By the time Jordan had turned two, Eva had grown more adjusted to the idea of having a child and wanted to carry one of her own. This time around, they used a donor who was a direct relative of Sasha and made no secret of that fact. Thus, despite being carried by different mothers, Jordan and his newborn brother Noah were still related by blood in some way, something that was very important to Eva in particular. However, as a result of the donor, Noah likewise inherited Prismic abilities like Sasha. His Awakening occurred at barely one-and-a-half years, making him the earliest Awakening among all of the Prismic kids. As a result of his young age, his Awakening was the simplest of all: he simply tried to imitate his older brother’s tendency to hover in the air while they played, and after a few tries, little Noah managed to hover as well.
Noah often found himself in his larger-than-life brother’s shadow as they grew older, especially given that he was “just” a Space-Att Prismic, while his brother was famously the only known dual-Attunement in existence. As a result, he was forced to find other interests with which to occupy his time, as he could never measure up to his brother’s prowess in Prismic abilities or athletics. Noah grew fascinated with the Stoicheal Realm and Attuned culture after visiting Pennelia with his mothers, and soon dedicated himself to learning everything he could about the other side of the mirror. Shortly after starting high school at Berry, he encountered Attuned-raised Evie Luxen, who had as much fascination and enthusiasm for his world as Noah had for hers. This led to a close platonic friendship between the two of them which persisted ever since.

And that's a wrap! Thank you so much for following on this silly journey into the future of the CIU heroes and their children... Prism Legacy coming soon! Let me know if you want to be tagged in that fic when it posts. Also, feel free to send me an ask and/or message with questions about anything CIU-related; can't guarantee I'll answer it but I always love chatting about my work with anyone who's interested. Thanks again!
This is probably a very stupid question, but are the marks on Sasha's arms... scars or just hair? It's a dumb thing to ask because it was one of the first things that caught my eye about her, but It was probably because I've gone through something similar, so I was wondering.
Author’s note:
The markings on Sasha’s arms were originally designed as body hair, but I also saw them this way and adjusted the design slightly before posting. It’s intentional that they can be read in more than one way.
Sometimes people recognize their own experiences in characters, even when that wasn’t the original intent. That doesn’t make those readings wrong.
If this topic hits close to home for you, please take care of yourself. You’re not alone.
The pickup truck rattles to a stop outside the sagging house and the stretch of dirt they call a ranch. Sasha hops out and slams the door harder than necessary. Good. Rebecca and her dad aren’t home yet. She’s got maybe an hour before the yelling starts.
She grabs a Pop-Tart from the kitchen, doesn’t bother with a plate, and heads straight for her room. Door shut. Lock turned. Habit.
She flops onto the bed, stares at the ceiling, then her phone buzzes.
Sasha goes still.
She swallows, pushes herself upright, and opens the app. The new audio feature stares back at her like a dare. She brings the phone up too close to her face, thumb hovering.
She starts recording. Stops. Clicks her tongue.
“Whatever,” she mutters, and starts over.
She talks fast at first, like ripping off a bandage.
