I started to answer this then started second guessing myself. Unpopular like ppl actively don’t like it or unpopular like ppl just don’t ship it/it’s not as popular as others in the fandom? I sure don’t know... So have one of each!

Unpopular bc ppl don’t like it:

I feel like I have a lot of these just bc I like a lot of villain ships. But aside from those, I guess I’ll go with Shiro/Pidge from Voltron. I fled the fandom long ago for a lot of reasons, but partly bc Shidge was my main ship and ppl hated it and were not afraid of harassing shippers. I still think it’s a super cute ship though!

Unpopular bc ppl just don’t ship it much:

Since I’m currently writing my Yuletide letter and this is one of my ships on there, Ian Malcolm/Nick Van Owen from Jurassic Park! I’m pretty sure it doesn’t even make the top ten ships for the fandom on AO3, but they’re great and I want more ppl to ship it lol

oh no what IS a cliche I love?? I have a hard time telling the difference between a cliche, and trope, a...theme, idk ;P OKAY now that I looked up examples, ahaha, I got one I love!!!

flashbacks that have the same actor playing the younger versions, ESPECIALLY if it’s like. an adult playing their own high school or younger self!! it cracks me up every time. :D

@sashahilbert In fanfiction, I personally hate when another pairing/ship gets put down to bring another one up. I especially hate it when its a woman getting called sexist words to hoist up another character. It’s odd to me that some fans feel they need to do this in order to make their pairing better or something. I’m not sure if this is unpopular, but I see this so often in fic that I feel it probably is.

Oh this is for sure a Groundhog Day type situation where Shawn, Gus, and Juliet confess their mutual love for Lassiter and try to sell him on the whole OT4 thing and he panics and runs away but then keeps living the same day over and over until he just gets over himself.

Surely you MUST know that the most iconique Shine scene for me is when you go through the contents of each character's emergency kit in Feeling Pretty Psyched, culminating in Shawn's simply consisting of Gus, Jules, & Lassie. You MUST.

THAT! Is probably one of my all-time top scenes ever, god, that's gotta be the most effect in the fewest words I've ever managed. I want that one in my obituary.
