Do you mind deleting that ask about me? It was sent to several users and the same person is sending hate throughout the community. Thank you for the compliment, but at this point this anon has been nothing but trouble and I would prefer it if no one would answer her. Thanks for your time. I'm sorry this is the first you've heard from me.
Oh, I'm sorry you're getting trouble from anons! Consider it deleted :)
Summary: Clara likes watching porn or just anything with sex in it, it's just a fact. But what will the Doctor say when he finds her watching Christopher and his Kind?
For sassandsouffles because I was prompted by an anonymous ask sent to her, hope you like it!
She had always claimed that it wasn't something she necessarily "got off" to, it was just enjoyable for her to watch. Overly dramatic and funny at times, porn was the perfect form of entertainment to her. She couldn't put her finger on it, but she had nothing to complain about.
Recently, Clara had really been into watching gay porn. There was just something about two men or two women sharing a bed that she enjoyed watching. She hadn't felt the touch of a woman in a long time, then again she hadn't felt the touch of a man either. Ever since she started running with the Doctor, her love life had plummeted into nonexistence. Her feelings for him had changed as their friendship progressed, but she'd never tell him that. He was an alien, she wasn't even sure he could feel that way about her.
No matter, she tried not to think about him as she popped in a movie recommended by her friend. Christopher and His Kind, a film about the talented, young writer Christopher Isherwood and his time in Berlin. Enough romance to warm her heart, and just enough mostly naked men to warm… other parts.
Clara gathered her popcorn and popped the DVD into the player. She settled herself comfortably into her couch and hit play.
Isherwood was attractive, very attractive, but somehow also very familiar looking. She couldn't put her thumb on it, until she did.
It was the Doctor. It had to be him. Matt Smith, the actor playing Isherwood was identical down to the lack of eyebrows. She had no idea that he was an actor, a rather good one at that! She smiled, wondering if the Doctor had done any more acting under this "Matt Smith" name.
Clara continued on with the movie. She was enjoying it, a great retelling of a great author's life. One scene, there was one scene not too far into the movie with Christopher and his young male lover in bed when the Doctor decided to materialize in her living room. Looking at the materializing TARIDS, she paused the movie, hoping the Doctor wouldn't question what she was watching.
"Clara!" The Doctor called as he stuck his head out the door.
"Doctor, it's not Wednesday, what are you doing here?"
He looked down at the ground, a slight frown of sadness upon his face. "Oh, I thought I would surprise you, but no matter, I can go if you'd like."
"No, no please you don't have to go. Come sit down." Clara moved to give the Doctor space on the couch.
"What are you watching?" The Doctor asked as he caught a glimpse of what was paused on the television. A close up of Isherwood's face, strained with pleasure in the heat of the moment. Clara's mouth gaped open, unable to explain it to him. "Is that… that's not… it can't be…"
"Um…" Clara was unsure of what to tell him.
"Clara, are you watching pornography?"
"I thought thought was you actually." She said, avoiding his second question.
"Oh, Clara! Turn it off!" He said, covering his eyes.
"It's not porn! I'm watching a movie." Clara protested.
"Yes, well that man looks like me, and he looks like he's rather busy with something, or someone, or in someone. Please Clara! Can we turn it off?"
"Fine!" She picked up the remote and hit the power button, making the television click to black. "There. It's gone."
"I don't understand how you humans can watch each other being… intimate. I thought that was supposed to be a private thing."
"Well some people like that type of thing, have you ever thought about that?"
The Doctor felt a shiver run through him. "You're into that kind of thing, aren't you?"
Clara's face went pink and she looked away.
"How… why… I would have never guessed…"
"Well you've never shown the slightest interest in my sex life so how would you know?" She spat back at him. "I'm sorry, I don't know why you would care about my sex life at all."
"But… how does it… you don't feel anything, you just watch it? For enjoyment?" The Doctor asked.
"Oh god." Clara groaned.
The Doctor smiled teasingly. "Clara, you like watching porn, don't you?"
"Please do not even go there."
"Porn starring a man that looks exactly like me."
"It's not porn! It's just a movie." Clara protested.
"Alright, and how often do you watch movies about men that look like me having sex?"
"I don't, it was recommended to me by a friend. It just happened that the actor looked really similar. Matt Smith… does that name mean anything to you?"
"Clara, that's not me. Why, do you think he's a Mr. Hottiness?" The Doctor asked with a chuckle.
"Stop it!"
"I can see that blush Clara. You're attracted to him."
"No, I'm not!"
"So how long have you had a crush on me?"
Clara closed her eyes and sighed dramatically. "You're never gonna stop with this, are you?"
"Never."
"My friend gave me this movie and the main actor happens to look like you."
"And why would your friend recommend you a movie that involves gay porn?"
"It's not—" She took a deep breath and continued. "Because I like it, okay! Now stop asking me!"
The Doctor chuckled. No matter how odd it seemed to him, it was something Clara liked. It was part of what made her Clara, one of her quirks.
"Alright, alright. I'll… slow down." The two shared a comfortable silence before the Doctor got fidgety and just had to talk. "So, was my lookalike good in bed?"
"How should I know? I'm not the one sleeping with him."
"Well did he look like he was good in bed?"
"You interrupted me, I didn't finish the scene." She said crossing her arms.
"Well then…" The Doctor turned the television back on and rewound to the beginning of the scene. "What do you think?"
Clara could feel her face heat up. That familiar stir of arousal sat in the pit of her stomach as she watched the two men with the Doctor beside her. "H-he's got nice form. His hands on the other man's body look nice."
"Nice?" He shot a look at her.
"Um, you know, strong." She was flustered as she thought of the way the Doctor might hold her. Clara shook her head and paused the movie again. She stood, running her fingers through her hair. "No. Nope. You, up. Too much."
"Why, did I fluster the great Clara Oswald?"
"Yes! You've flustered me! Back to the TARDIS, now. I think you've ruined porn for me forever."
"Aw, Clara, why!"
"Because, I'll just be picturing you! Now out! I need some alone time."
"And what does that consist of?"
"What do you think it consists of Doctor?"
He was silent for a moment before it hit him. "O-oh, okay. I'll just… can I pop by on Wednesday?"
"Fine! Just… leave me alone for a bit."
"Okay. G-goodnight Clara, have fun…?" The Doctor stepped into the TARDIS and quickly dematerialized.
Clara's face relaxed, and she sat back down on the couch with her popcorn and clicked play again, but moments later, turned it off.
"Can't do this." She muttered as she ejected the disk and put it back in the case. "Let's hope there are no Doctor lookalikes on HBO."
alright, so I haven't watched the episodes and I'm desperately going to TRY to like Danny... but I feel like it's almost impossible. I read the fourth script b/c I heard how AWFUL it was on the Danny/ Clara front... and I Just don't understand how you can possibly ignore the implications there...
The way I see it, there’s too much brilliance in "Listen" outside of the trainwreck that is this Pinkwald business to dismiss the episode as a whole. I don’t have a problem with the Rupert part. I think the child actor played it right. It just goes into cringeworthy territory when it’s Samuel on camera and he’s in it for maybe 25% of the thing. Outside of that, the directing is incredible, the dialogue is sharp, and the performances of Capaldi and Coleman are A+++. There’s also the way this episode elevates Clara’s character to a whole different realm. After this I simply don’t think people can dismiss her anymore. I will literally start to question if they even watched the episode if I hear anyone talking smack about her. She is cemented as the most important companion in The Doctor’s history. How can I not adore the episode that does that even when I have to roll my eyes for about a quarter of it?
