⁣ Samsung Galaxy Note 10+⁣ Taken on 22/07/2020.⁣ ⁣ It's always been said that in Sassello you breathe in good air thinking about the woods and unspoilt nature in the 'Valli del Beigua' ('Beigua Valleys').⁣ ⁣ But walking in the old village, amid craft shops and local products, you'll realise that the air of Sassello smells of almonds, coffee and the famous 'amaretti': Italy's answer to macaroons.⁣ ⁣ Dozens of years ago in the beautiful central piazza there was an oven that produced macaroons and became a regular meeting point for locals and tourists, so much so that the piazza was also known in old postcards as the 'Piazza degli Amaretti Virginia' ('the Square of Virginia Macaroons').⁣ ⁣ Even if you haven't got a sweet tooth, Sassello has a charming historical centre that has to be explored.
