Did you know that the National Dex numbers are zero-padded to four digits now? So Bulbasaur is #0001, for example. Crazy how many 'mons there are!

Oh man, yeah, that is crazy. It's one thing to know there are over a thousand Pokemon, but another to really think about it.

I don't plan on going back and adding extra zeros, but it's wild to think about!

Are there any re-dos you're excited to work on?

I’m looking forward to most of them, honestly! I find it very cathartic and rewarding to redo my old artwork.

I’m not really looking forward to working on it, but I’m really looking forward to having the Beldum line done (I think the difference will be dramatic even though the approach will be similar, and I haven’t wanted to reblog that one in years lol).

I want to try a different approach with Larvesta, so that’ll be fun, and I’m really looking forward to updating the art for Sentret and Swinub for some additional cuteness factor. Drowsee, Roselia, and Pancham are up there too!

how long do you think mega evolution would take in this version of the pokemon world where it's accomplished through growth? like, how long would it take to mega evolve, how long would it last, and how long would it take to change back? how often do you think they can mega evolve, since it seems to be a tiring process? sorry for all the questions i'm just super curious 😁

Hey Satanbird! I never mind the questions :)

In IPP "canon," I treat Mega Evolution similarly to how it's treated in the games. It's more or less a very quick, almost instantaneous process that uses a lot of energy, some of which is provided by the Mega Stone, and some of which is derived from the Pokemon itself. I imagine transforming back would also be a fairly quick process, but maybe take a little longer than the initial transformation due to the exhaustion of the Pokemon.

As for how often they could Mega Evolve, I think it would depend on how extreme the transformation is. A Pokemon like Ampharos doesn't have a super draining transformation, but a Pokemon like Tyranitar, whose back splits open, or Glalie, whose jaw breaks, would likely need more time to recover. So (in D&D terms...) more intense Mega Evolutions would need a long rest, while less intense ones would only need a short rest before they could Mega Evolve again.
