Half dragon Arthurlot/Arthadow thing!

So we have half dragon Lancelot, however, his name isn’t Lancelot. He wasn’t adopted by Nimune and lived on his own, with only passing dragons to give him a name.

In this AU, dragons speak Latin (because it’s cool!) and call him Umbra, meaning “Shadow”. You’ll see why exactly I chose this name soon.

Now Umbra was captured by hunters from another kingdom, and during a negotiation with Arthur, the ruler of that kingdom brought Umbra as a pet or gift for Arthur. Horrified and angry to see the poor half dragon creature tied down, muzzled, and scarred, Arthur accepted so he could try to save him.

Umbra acts more like Shadow than Lancelot, which is why I thought it’d be fun to do this. He has a lot of distrust for pretty much everyone around him and makes it very clear that he hates how his freedom was stripped away and is now forced to be a pet.

Arthur would eventually get through to him, and try to find somewhere safe for Umbra to stay seeing as he still feels caged even when he’s free to wander Camelot.

basically i started this back in may and essentially just worked on it off and on at random intervals. i may eventually come back to this(or not) but if i do ill likely redo it completely

but yea basically to stop myself from feeling terrible about the lack of responses i got i basically decided to just draw the one thing that was requested
