shopping(?)
Afternoon in the Shopping District is the loudest and the busiest, the low murmur of the crowd combined with the shouts of vendors rising above the constant noise to draw attention to their wares. In the background, rising above it all, a theme park, its attractions huddled together and all vying for the attention of the guests with bright lights and exciting signs. The cluttered streets with stands packed onto the sidewalks threaten to overwhelm newcomers with their sheer numbers and voices pulling in several directions at once, unless, of course, you already know what you're looking for.
It so happens that Shiki is a person who is rather single-minded in pursuit of her goals, to say the least. Although all of the sound and wares combined with the summer sun beating down on her back would perhaps disorient the average citizen, she is decidedly not so.
A sunny day with a cloudless sky, a perfect time to familiarize herself with the city, and perhaps find a decent weapon.
Though, with every stand she passes, she realizes Sector oo3 may have been the better place to find something to stab with--unfortunately, since it's a while to there just taking the train--and she finds herself going down a small side street to escape both the attention of the stand owners and the increasingly bothersome heat.
Better go back to the station, then. Nothing here for her. So she starts down the narrow street at a brisk pace, when her foot catches on something small--a string? No, more like a wire--and with a couple clicks and the sound of some mechanism being released, she's fallen right into a trap.
A slightly surprised "Oh--" is all that comes out of her mouth before a large pan hits her square on the head, then clatters to the ground at her feet, with the sharp clang of metal. It confuses her for a moment, then she's snapped out of it, and she immediately kneels down to examine the thing. What on earth was that supposed to do?
Who... really, who does this?
