Plutarkhos’un anlatımına göre [Alex.XXIV (8-9)], Büyük İskender’in rüyasında bir Satyros belirmiş. Satyros ile oynamak isteyen Büyük İskender onun peşine düşmüş. Satyros kaçtıkça o kovalamış, ancak en sonunda onu yakalayabilmiş. Uyandığında ise bir kâhine danışmış, ne anlama geliyor bu rüya diye. Kâhin kelimeyi ikiye ayırmış ve demiş ki Sa-Tyros (σα γενήσεται τυρος) yani Senin Olacaktır Tyros! Bu yorumdan cesaret alan Büyük İskender ise Tyros’a tüm gücüyle saldırmış ve sonunda da şehri ele geçirmeyi başarmış.
