question for you: i’ve never quite understood the times when aziraphale says he feels flashes of love like at the hospital and in the car w crowley before they hit anathema. i know angels can feel love, but i can’t figure out what the significance is context-wise. what do you think?

it’s intended to show us that adam loves tadfield. imo it’s a bit clearer in the book because in the show i think it gets a little confused by the arc going on with crowley and aziraphale themselves, but it’s really supposed to show us that once they get to tadfield, aziraphale can sort of sense how much adam loves the place. remember that when adam is dividing up the world, he only gives himself tadfield? “this is my world,” he tells anathema. “i’ve got all the world i want.” he is a small town boy who loves his hometown, and aziraphale can feel it. this becomes important to how they save the world - adam doesn’t want to rule the world, he doesn’t want to destroy everything. he was left alone to grow up, and he has grown up full of love even though he’s the antichrist. he should be hell incarnate, but instead he is full of love, and passion, and belief in the world. he’s capable of doing the wrong thing - he lashes out against the world, he attacks his friends - but love brings him back. love grounds him. and in the end adam’s love for tadfield and his friends and even his parents is what saves them all. neat, huh?
