today i learned that humans can mold... Usually flesh decomposes naturally by rotting, so why the heck would it start to mold?

In order for mold to grow you'd first need to halt the decomposition process, usually via embalming. If then placed in a moist environment...

I guess this is why mold only appears on cooked meats, whereas spoiled raw meat just turns brown.
