got some jersey mockups for pwhl hamilton which was an interesting experience cause while i don't love the choice of expanding there at this point i DO want the team to have good branding and such. that being said two of these are genuine suggestions one is a bit of a laff (you guess which) for all three, i've chosen golden yellow as the main color with the maroon as secondary partly out of Hope and partly based on the way the currently available merch is designed

the Hamilton Maulers: a maul is a type of hammer that has an axe wedge on one side and a hammer face on the other. if one were to view it top-down, it would look like the space between the H and M in this design, with the top of the handle where the cinquefoil is. that cinquefoil is from the hamilton city flag which in turn borrows it from the badge of Clan Hamilton. the sleeves and hem of the sweater are both more visually interesting than just solid color blocks and give a bit of a blood-spatter vibe. i think the league could stand to get a lil more negative! let's openly thirst for the blood of our enemies already!

continuing the Let's Get Negative vibes: the hamilton burglars. look. they're an expansion team. they WILL be stealing players from existing teams and they WILL be stealing some of the existing fanbase of toronto and (to a lesser extent) ottawa. lean into it. be the heel. then commit to being really really good at jailbreak goals. the stripes here are reminiscent of an old-timey prison uniform and the bowler hat and domino mask also hearken back to a simpler time when a guy could just be a burglar and burgle stuff without it being a whole thing

the Hamilton Industry: similar to detroit, hamilton has been known for being a manufacturing and industrial center for ontario, a blue-collar Steeltown. here we've got the smoke stacks of a manufacturing plant creating the smog that houses the Industry lettering. the outermost strips of the sleeve cuffs and hem are that same silvery-grey as the smoke to remind us of that history
