Hey guys, the big dog in that picture there is Thor. He's a German Shepherd in Denmark that was, thanks to Denmark's poorly constructed laws concerning dogs, wrongly condemned to be "put to sleep" for biting another dog on the ear while out on a walk. Now, the reason I say "WRONGLY condemned" is that Thor did not initiate the little scrap he had with this other, smaller dog. And furthermore, the family of the small dog that Thor bit even recognized that Thor and his family were not at fault for the incident and have absolutely no intention of pressing charges. The only reason Thor was taken from his family was because when the "victim's" family took their dog to the vet to have its ear treated, the Police were able to find out what Thor had done. And so, even though the family of the small dog still to this day has no desire to press charges, the Police deemed that Thor's behavior was "not natural" and took him away from his home to be put to sleep.
Thankfully, on the day Thor was scheduled to be put down, a police officer by the name of Lars Bo Lomholt "kidnapped" Thor from the station and managed to save this dog's life. Lomholt took Thor to a vet to have him examined before delivering him to an unknown accomplice to be kept safe, knowing full-well it wouldn't be long until he was apprehended for what he did.
In an interview, Lomholt acknowledged that what he did was reckless but that he had "Simply had enough" of his government's arbitrary and unfair treatment towards dogs like Thor. For Thor is not the first dog to be put to death SOLELY on the demand of the Danish government (and in the absence of any demand for death from the people) and if we don't show our support, Thor won't be the last either.
Please help put a stop to this disrespect for animal-life and the disregard for the personal liberties of Denmark's people by reblogging this post or joining the following facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/161470557334742/?ref=ts&fref=ts . Yes, the group is in Danish, but all I ask is that you join to show that there are people beyond their nation that recognize just how wrong and warped all this is. With enough people, maybe the Danish government can be pressured into changing these laws which have allowed so many otherwise sane, healthy, and friendly dogs to be put to death.
