It started with Intro/Destiny Arrives, but after I've finished the pianos, I added another song... so it grew...and the amount escalated quickly^^ An official released OST is still missing, so: Big special thanks to the people here on Youtube, who uploaded the extractions of the music that  played during the episodes and removed a huge amount of the environmental sounds, dialogues and other non-music-stuff via EQ. This made it somehow less complicated to identify notes, even if the overall quality still let it be a challenge due to noise, pumping, changing volume etc.: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL4335BE310D821542 This is all by ear = no tabs, and it contains no original audio! ... and was probably my most challenging attempt in mixing until now^^ Some songs are more close to the original, others have some more variations ;P Because there is no official released OST, I didn't want to be too "experimental" and destroy more than create^^ Overall it has less loudness than professional mastered stuff, but I really didn't want to hypercompress this, even because I never mixed instruments this way and didn't want to overdo it, just because everything else in the music-biz is loudness-war-mastered as standard... *The rhythms in Song N°2 are inspired from the "Dialing Earth"-Piano version by Youtube-user - Rinerion - :) I liked those ones and remebered them during the jammingtracks. A small Gauntlet-melody is in the middle, because the series also stopped near the middle (SGU was designed for five seasons), so I don't see the end of S2 as the end of the series, it's in stasis,for longer than the expected three years. I can't really play piano,but also wanted to do something with the "Gauntlet"-Melody and didn't only want to simply use another one's MIDI. Somehow I also wanted to make it sound more positive and driven, not just like the "sad ending theme" it normally is! I hope it worked^^ Diving in the sun that was such a nice episode.It was a bit hard to figure out the strings in the background, but I hope, they're not too much off^^ Limelight - is this a single song or just an intro-part of CtD? I just took it as it's been named in a yt-playlist, but I have no problem with this as a single song. Countdown  to Destiny - I dropped a small part and one repeated track in the end, but I hope you won't kill me because of that^^ The only Mission is Survival - somehow the original song sounds a bit like it's from Babylon5, just imagine it with 90's strings oO Maybe I'll also cover further SGU-songs, that's just a matter of time^__^ but not as a pseudo-medley again, as single ones :) „Wrong People“ for example, which I also include into this one here^^ Maybe we'll get more soundtracks and even a real OST-Release, when the series continue,so pls. sign that petition :) Thanks to everyone who'll sign and like, share, comment mine. ... Saving Stargate Universe

I dunno about anyone else, but I feel a little bit lost without the Stargates, even after all this time.

So, even if this is a long shot, I can't help but want to help it succeed.

How SyFy killed SGU

Know I been around and seeing people ask how did SyFy set SGU up to fail so let me tell you how they did that.

When season 1 rolled out they did advertise it, but not too much.  They had a promo Ad here and there, but not too many.  Season 1 started playing on Friday night at 9:00pm (Eastern Time) on October 2, 2009 and went in to its season break on December 9, 2009 with an average of 2 million viewers.  The show came back on April 22, 2010 and finished up season 1 with an average of 1.8 million viewers.

The first half of season 1 had set the story up; the search for food, water, power and supplies.  It also set the crews’ back-stories.  This is the same for any starting out TV show.  It would have been to the 2nd half of season 1 when the action starts.

When season 2 came back it was moved to Tuesday night at 9:00pm (Eastern Time) with little warning to it viewers.  This move was done to make room on Friday night for WWE.  SyFy is saying they did the move to help SGU because its ratings were dipping.  This chart shows that season 1 was doing will and was stable.  Yes it did dip from the start but that is normal in any new show.

The first half of season 2 ended on November 30, 2010 with an average of 1.078 million viewers, almost half of the viewers it had in season 1 before the move that was to help save SGU.

During the season break SyFy announced on December 16, 2010 that it would not be picking up Stargate Universe for a 3rd season.  This was only two weeks after SGU finished up its first half of season 2 with 10 episodes and still had 10 more to go.  Also it is likely they made the decision much earlier before the 2nd half of season 2 finishes due to the fact how SGU ended.  The last episode of SGU ended in a way that it would not really be a clip hanger but was.  The crew may be safe in space, will fly in FTL out and around the drones and we all know Eli will find a way to save himself.

The 2nd half of season 2 airs on March 7, 2011 with no warning to its time change (again) till a week before the first episode aired and during that week they had little promo spots for it.  The show was moved to Monday night at 10:00pm (Eastern Time) (this is the time slot they put shows to die and be forgotten).  SGU finished up its 2nd half of season 2 with an average of 0.958 half of its season 1.

MGM asked SyFy for permission to make a movie and on April 17, 2011 it was said that the SGU movie was not going to happen.

For the repeated time change and lack of advertisement SyFy failed SGU.  It is good to note that MGM has no part in the cancelation of SGU, that is all SyFy or NBC Universal.  I hope this clears things up for anyone.

Michael Shanks and Erica Durance to star in Saving Hope for Canada’s CTV

The CTV network in Canada has just greenlit Saving Hope, a new 1-hour drama starring Stargate SG-1 veterans Michael Shanks and Erica Durance.

Shanks plays Charlie Harris, a medical doctor and chief of surgery who winds up in a coma in his own Toronto hospital. As his wife and fellow surgeon Alex Reid (Durance) struggles to cope with the situation and fight for his life, Harris wanders the hospital in “spirit” form, not sure if he’s a ghost or a figment of his own imagination.

Twelve hours of the new series have been ordered, in addition to the 1-hour pilot already filmed.
