As applicable today as ever: “We regard Attic temples and Roman triumphal arches and Gothic cathedrals as a priceless value. But we are, as a whole, still in that low state of civilization where we do not understand that it is also vandalism wantonly to destroy or to permit the destruction of what is beautiful in nature, whether it be a cliff or forest, or a species of mammal or bird.” -- Theodore Roosevelt — — — #savetheconfluence #protectgrandcanyon #grandcanyon #grandcanyonnationalpark #protectsacredsites

Saving the Confluence
Repost @reclaimyourpower : "@neeshmax "@kellygj3 and I spent our Indigenous Peoples Day sitting in on the Escalade Hearing at Twin Arrows, then we made a pit stop to marvel and appreciate. Today we witnessed the NNLaw & Order committee unanimously oppose the proposal of the Grand Canyon Escalade. This is 1 of 5 approvals the developers will need to move forward. Stay tuned for dates and times of the next meetings. Continue to pray that this stops dead at every level." ✊🏽 #savetheconfluence #defendthesacred #indigeniousresistance #indigenouspeoplesday #abolishcolumbusday #protectorsnotprotesters #thefrontlineiseverywhere
Navajo Nation Law & Order Committee: entire NN workforce costs $22million/yr. How will $65mil for Escalade, plus carrying liability insurance, impact Nation finances? Also, Navajo Nation Law & Order Committee: no grazing permittees have given permission for #Escalade. #savetheconfluence #protectgrandcanyon #ColoradoRiver #grandcanyon #nogondola
#NavajoNation Law and Order Committee Meeting on the #Escalade development at the #confluence of the #LittleColorado and #ColoradoRiver. The gentleman speaking is asking why the Nation can't invest in protecting traditional lifestyles instead of building casino-scale projects throughout the Nation. "Now we must invest in our local communities." #savetheconfluence #protectgrandcanyon #grandcanyon #nogondola
Are We Losing the Grand Canyon?
This article talks about a 650-mile trek that two adventure junkies have went through. And during their journey they saw something that can ruin american soil!! They had their article posted by National Geographic so its legit.
The author is Kevin Fedarko who explains what they see and writes about the journey. And Pete McBride was with him taking some awesome photos of the adventure.
This is a interesting article. It talks about the land and the history. Not really the sacred things, but about the first american explores who went through and the journey it was. He also talks about how beautiful the scenery is.
