“Blanket fort! Blanket fort! Blanket foooort!” The four-year-old loved those! Grabbing as many blankets as he possibly could, Novus toddled into the living room pushing the blanket pile towards the center. “Can we use all the blankets in the house?” The bigger it would be, the better. But what if people got cold? They wouldn’t have anything to cover themselves. “…We can use um…my blankets and yours and…maybe some of Mommy and Daddy’s cause other people gotta be warm.”

For a long moment Isabelle just sort of stared at the dress in confusion. She’d caught the mass of fabric on instinct, unwilling to let something so obviously expensive touch the floor. Six, was her whole apartment worth as much as this dress?

“I... I don’t think that would end well... a glaive outside of uniform? At the spring ball?” She stumbled over her words nervously. It wasn’t about being outside of uniform that really bothered her. But the dress, the invitation, it al felt out of nowhere to her and despite her best efforts a small voice in her mind told her to be wary.
