Kathy Stobart

Jazz saxophonist Kathy Stobart was born in 1925 in South Shields, England. A significant figure in British jazz, Stobart was best known for her work with the Humphrey Lyttleton Band. She also performed with prominent figures such as Denis Rose and Vic Lewis, formed her own bands, and appeared as a soloist during her career. Despite working in a male-dominated field, Stobart managed to become a household name.

Kathy Stobart died in 2014 at the age of 89.

David Sanborn - Run For Cover (1981)

Just heard about his passing and wanted to dedicate this post to him. My dad had shown me this track I think sometime last year, and I've been really digging this album ever since. I grew up listening to a lot of smooth jazz, and David Sanborn was one of those artists that I came across. RIP to one of the greats.
