Buck had a hard shift.
Happy Belated Birthday to the amazing and wonderful @saybiforme! Love you so much my beloved Renee!! ❤❤❤
The last twelve hours had been one bad call after the other leaving the worst one for the last. Bobby offered to buy everyone breakfast to help decompress before everyone came home to their families, but he just wanted to see Eddie and Christopher right away. Except, now that he's in their driveway, he's second guessing himself. He doesn't want them to see him like this.
Buck has enjoyed staying over at Eddie's place while Taylor keeps the apartment until she finds a new one, and loves coming home from work to Eddie and Christopher. But today, he doesn't want them to have to deal with him while he's like this, especially since it's Saturday and Christopher had a whole fun day planned after he got a few hours of sleep. He doesn't want to ruin Chris' day or have Eddie worry about him. And yet at the same time he's selfish and knows just seeing them would help him. He just doesn't want to put the mood down, especially since his Diaz boys are doing better after having a rough several months. He can't be the reason they get sad.
He's looking down in his lap, sitting in his jeep and watching his legs bounce as he debates whether or not he should just go inside or not when a knock at his window startles him.
He turns his car on and rolls down the window. "Uh. Hey."
"Hey," Eddie says, smirking at him. "You okay? You've been sitting here for ten minutes."
Buck tries to give him a fake smile. "I'm fine."
Eddie narrows his eyes at him, studying him. "You don't seem fine." He then tilts his head towards Eddie's home and says softly, "Come on, let's go inside."
"I-I don't think that's a good idea."
"Why, because you had a rough call and don't want to "burden" us with it?"
Buck blinks at him. "How'd you know?" Eddie knows him better than practically anyone else, but still.
