SB19 Pagtatag (Second Coming)

The Kings are back!!!!

PPOP super group SB19 just drop the trailer of their new single/album PAGTATAG. The second installment of a trilogy. Check out the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBHdJM1jQUI

The trailer is very reminiscent of What, the carrier single of Pagsibol (first album in the trilogy). The color palette, the cinematography, the storyline is all pointing out that the singles are somewhat related, that Pagtatag is continuation of What, just like how Pagtatag, the album, is a continuation of Pagsiblol. If you’re an A’TIN, you can easily decipher the underlying meaning of the trailer’s storyline. As narrated, it is about the group’s perseverance and hope to grow the plant (and I supposed the same plant held by Stell in the What video). Their wish of growing that sprout into a full-grown plant (just like the meaning of Pagtatag or translated to strengthening, build up or fortification). That plant symbolizes SB19 and their dreams and true to their journey vis-a-vis the trailer, just when everyone was about to give up, against all the failure, anxiety and frustrations, Stell give it his last shot and watered the plant with his own blood (the scene recalls when all the members, except for Stell, almost give up on their dreams) then lo and behold, the plant exploded into something big. The bloodletting merely symbolizes how Mahalima shed blood, tears, and sweat to come this far. And now that they’re back, there’s no slowing them down. Just like what they said before, Pagtatag will be a better SB19, lots to expect and anticipate, new things to discover. So brace ourselves of what’s to come. Last thoughts. I enjoyed the trailer, it’s like a movie with cliffhanger ending. Having Pepe Herera on the MV is like a dash of spice and adding flavor to it. It’s exciting how other artists are on it. This may be farfetched but knowing that Pepe is also a musical actor/singer, does the Pagtatag EP also have a musical component to it? We’re about to find out in month.
