Friendly reminder that:

Theseus and Leta (Along with Bunty) were the only one who attend Newt's book launch to support him.

Theseus and Leta had asked Newt to come for dinner multiple times. Possibly waiting for him until their dinner's got cold in a hope Newt would come and spends time with them.

Implied in FB1, Theseus wrote a letter to Newt, wishing him well 'whatever beastly quests he's undertaking'. It's a small moment, but at least it shows he still wants to keep in touch.

Among the Scamander family, Theseus is the only one who cares a lot about Newt (at least, that's how we see it so far), along with his fiancee, Leta, who was also Newt's close friend since they were in Hogwarts. The relationship between them may be complicated, but it doesn't mean it's not genuine.

I went to see 1917 and came out speculating how exactly wizards were involved with World War I....

We know that canonically wizarding Britain was against joining the muggle’s war, but even a teenage peace-loving Newt still somehow ends up wrangling dragons on the Eastern Front and Theseus becomes an internationally recognized and nationally decorated war veteran, soo...  if even wizards as far away as Britain got involved then surely wizarding Germany must’ve gotten involved as well, if at the very least to defend its physical land from muggle warfare. Thus, Gellert Grindelwald was force-conscripted into the German army...

It was here that he really started gaining a name for himself as a Dark Wizard internationally, known in the trenches as The Necromancer for his love of raising the recently-dead as vicious Inferi. He first developed his signature Protego Diabolica spell here, which protected his chosen allies (and himself) from the hoards of the undead and helped eliminate them after the battle was won.

Idk if Albus joined the war effort or not. A part of me desperately wants to see him be insanely BAMF on the battlefield, but the more sensible half tells me Albus would ethically be against participating himself. Plus, he notoriously avoids confrontation, soo... he’s likely hidden away at Hogwarts for the duration of the war. Maybe he contributes by helping brew restorative potions (?).

Considering the war started because of muggle politics and ended up getting even wizards involved, I bet Gellert used this as one of his many springboards to convince people to join his anti-muggle crusade. “Why should we wizards have to die for a war muggles began?” etc. Also, it shows wizarding kind that muggles can be Really Destructive. This is the first war where there are tanks,  mustard gas, and airplane bombings... even the most well hidden wizard in Europe had to have experienced the effects of this war.
