Okay, listen.

I’m not gonna lie, I used to bully the Hawk Moth costume constantly. I would make comments about him being bald, being purple guy, all the things.

But listen. I MISS the original costume now.

LOOK HOW SIMPLE IT WAS

So concise, so sleek, so recognizable. Purple, as much as it reminded be of william, suited his character. It WORKED.

I even didn’t mind this costume. I actually liked it. I liked how they didn’t really change the over all design but added some flair with the new miraculous addition. Still recognizable. I didn’t like the name change from Hawk Moth to Shadow Moth but hey it wasn’t bad. I got used to it.

Then we have this monstrosity. There’s nothing good about this. Not a single thing. Let me just say-

-this is the energy it gives. WAIT OMG HE LOOKS LIKE THE ANATOMICAL MUSCLE MAN

Not to mention that he changed his name to SCARLET MOTH??? Like it doesn’t even flow the way Hawk Moth and Shadow Moth did. Do I need further explanation as to why I hate this design?? Me thinks no

WHAT IS THAT???? WHAT ARE THE EARS DOING??? THEY ARE FREE ROAMING. FOREHEAD-AGE TO THE MAX. AND WHATS WITH THE EYES???? Up until this point his eyes have been normal and cohesive to normal Gabriel. This one they just decided to make him look weird asf???? I’ll give it to them, the actual costume is nice. They brought back the purple. They made the broach it’s normal colors again. They made him shiny??? I don’t absolutely despise it. The face is what makes this the absolute worst design. Not to mention THE NAME CHANGE???? I hate it sm. Monarch would’ve been a great name for another character. I like the name Monarch itself. I HATE IT FOR HAWK MOTH. All of the previous names had the ending Moth. I get it I get it this is his evolved form with all the miraculous but come on. They laid out the formula I just want them to follow it.

Monarch i (9/10)

This guy looks so cool but loses one point for not being scary like at all, and also making poor choices. I love the stained glass coat and the fact that he finally took off his baldcap. This is imo the only suit of his that I genuinely believe a fashion designer such as Gabriel would come up with.

Shadow Moth (7/10)

The face thing is really weird but the suit's pretty good, it's an improvement on his original. Bigger nicer coat.

Shadow Noir (7/10)

Would be ranked above Shadow Moth, except he loses a point for not being on screen long enough for me to find a decent screenshot of him from the front. Also he gave himself defined abs and pecs for some reason. I like the details, the purple feather tail, and how the ears and tiara line almost makes the baldcap not look terrible.

Original Hawkmoth (5/10)

He gets a solid C+ and is the standard all others are judged by, so he exists perfectly in the middle.

Scarlet Moth (3/10)

He accidentally bleached his suit and then threw it in the washer with a red sock. He got paint dumped on him. They recoloured his model and made no other effort whatsoever.

Monarch ii (1.5/10)

Hello again baldcap. He has ears now! It's weird? But not bad ig! I'm not going to give him zero because he looks good from shoulder to temple but above and below that zone looks terrible, and his hands look stupid as is to be expected from a man wearing 15 rings simultaneously. His transformation sequence is really cool though I'll give him half a point for that, I like the lace- like a chrysalis- and the wing animation looks cool.

ok so in Heroes’ Day, scarlet moth akumatized not one, but three miraculous users, and wasn’t able to find out any of their secret identities. so the ’ladybug and chat noir cant get akumatized or hawkmoth will figure out their identities’ thing doesn’t make sense anymore, right?? am i just missing something lol??

then again it is miraculous, they aren’t exactly known for consistency lmao-
