Had anyone ever drawn a nightmare that scared you the most?
In my case, these two characters are what scared me the most in the recent nightmares I had. I wasn't even sure if I was awake or still dreaming when I saw these ' Things '
First, we have The Shadow Figure
It may not look that scary, but imagine dreaming your room, with the exact little details, at night, a pitch black room, and you see this Shadowy figure, more pitch black than the room it's in, with white bright eyes staring at you while you lay in your bed under your covers. It felt so real that I wasn't sure if I was having sleep paralysis or was still dreaming (I don't suffer with sleep paralysis). The immense fear it inflicted on me is unimaginable. I consider my room as a safe space, and seeing this figure staring intensely at me gave me terrors that I couldn't explain. Probably it is the fear of something or someone being in my safe space at night, where I'm the most vulnerable.
Second, which was last night's dream, is what I call, The Whisperer
Again, might not look that scary, but in my dream, which was probably caused by the large cold espresso i bought at work, made me dream this thing. I can't explain what my dream was, but I do know that when he appeared, the sky suddenly turned black, and he appeared whispering stuff that I couldn't understand. I don't know it's purpose, but it inflicted me in fear that in my dream I was crying.
I had to draw them, mainly just cause I wanted to draw something, so I drew my own Nightmare things.
The costs of not being able to count
Cara:
An estimated 15 million adults have skills at or below that expected of an 11 year old - 6.8 million at or below that of a 9 year old.
In 2007, 30,022 children left primary school with "very poor" numeracy skills - about 5.8% of the population.
Of all children who require extra support due to being labelled as "special educational needs", the largest group is those with poor numeracy and/or literacy skills
These children are more likely to be truant, and a report in 2001 found that more than half of permanently excluded pupils were in the lowest 2% of population for numeracy skills
Adults with poor numeracy skills are much more likely to be unemployed (e.g. four out of ten "economically inactive" women have poor numeracy skills), while those with numeracy skills above that expected of an 11 year old earn on average 26% more than those with skills below this.
Adults with these poor skills are also more likely to be depressed
There is also a strong link between poor numeracy skills and crime, even when comparing children from similar backgrounds.
Overall the every child counts trust estimates that poor numeracy skills cost the economy £2.4 billion a year, giving the program a £12-£19 return on every pound invested.
Malorie's Story - Scariest Experience Ever
I have a purple 'spy' bike that I ride everyday at my dad's. One day, I was cruising down the street when something caught my eye. It seemed... like it had been running, but when I glanced back... no one. Nothing.
I always ride to the corner and back, and on my way back, I saw it again. At this point, I was kinda/sorta used to ghosts. I already met the shower ghost, encountered Bloody Mary, and got introduced to John. So this one, I suspected.
Back in my driveway, I stared hard at the spot where I had seen it until I saw them. Not one, but TWO ghosts. A little girl about 7 or 8 years of age and an older man that seemed to be holding her hand. They were either childhood sweethearts that died at different ages/times, or a dad and daughter. I went for dad and daughter, because it was more plausible.
Hopping on my bike, I sped towards them. Neither smiled, talked, grinned or moved. I rode right through them, and upon turning the corner the weirdest thing happened. I looked straight ahead and saw the houses around me turn gray, then black and crumble away. Looking behind me, I saw the sideway appear to crack straight down the middle and the split was coming toward me, so I sped up.
There was a little piece of land/grass and a light pole at the end of the street. It didn't seem to be affected at all. Skidding to a halt at the edge of the grass, I left my bike there and hugged the pole. I shut my eyes closed and kept them like that until the crumbling noise stopped. Upon opening my eyes, everything appeared normal. Looking down at the turn, I saw the dad and daughter nod seriously to me and turn around and disappear. Never saw them again.
