I came across a tiktok stating that schizo/psychotic spectrum people would loose grey brain matter if they don't take antipsychotics.
That seemed extremely odd to me so I took my time and actually read those papers and listened to clinicians talking about the side effects of antipsychotics. Funnily enough it's not the disorder that causes most of the loss of grey brain matter, there is some grey matter you loose with the onset of the symptoms (as most disorders cause a shift in your brain) but most of the loss and shrinkage of your brain is actually caused by taking long term antipsychotics.
I hate how psychotic people get treated when they don't want to take meds. I don't care about fitting in society, I don't really mind my schizophrenia symptoms. The people around me can handle me perfectly fine, and most importantly I can handle myself perfectly fine without meds that make me into a sedated robot.
