Pont Mariä Himmelfahrt hétvégéjére esett az idei Schwägalp Schwinget a Säntis lábánál, a Bergkranzfest fesztivállal összekapcsolva.

A Schwingen (a krikett-szerű hornussen és a kőhajítás mellett) egy svájci nemzeti sport: fűrészporos ringen belül próbálja két 1-1.5 mázsás férfi felborítani a másikat. Kb 800 éve játsszák. A bajnokság az egész országon végigvonul, és fix stadiont se kíván. Belépős, de a küzdőtér melletti dombról simán belátni. A covid miatt csökkentett számú nézőt fogadnak.

A Bergkranzfestek a svájci hegylábaknál rendezett jódlis-sörös hagyományőrző bebaszások.

A felvonó alállomását is befogadó, 1278 méter magasan álló Hotel Säntist egy lavina is elérte 2019-ben. Rakhatták volna távolabb a szomszédos 1200 méter magas hegyoldaltól.

Idén a Schwinger-családból származó, 23 éves thurgaui Sam Giger legyőzte a lyssi Schwingerkirály Stuckit.

Ein mutiges Coming-out des Spitzenschwingers Curdin Orlik | NZZ

Curdin Orlik bekennt sich im «Magazin» des «Tages-Anzeigers» zu seiner Homosexualität. Er sagt: «Lieber bin ich frei als ängstlich.»

Orliks Coming-out ist umso mutiger, weil es in einer Sportart erfolgt, die wie kaum eine andere für Konservatismus steht. Und Orlik ist ein Schwinger, der im Fokus ist, er zählt wie sein jüngerer Bruder Armon zu den stärksten Kämpfern des Landes.

BIG DAY FOR LGBTQ PEOPLE IN SWISS (🇨🇭) SPORTS

Today Curdin Orlik (pic below) came out as gay and with that is the FIRST EVER professional sportsman to do that in the history of this country.

He is one of the best in our national sport „Schwingen“ —> which is basically the swiss version of wrestling.

I‘m so so proud of him. Coming out, especially doing a sport like that, takes a lot of courage. He talked about it himself. He is 27, by the way, and has been hiding his true self for a long time because of prejudice in sports.

„I don’t want to be scared anymore. This is who I am. This is how I was born and I want to be free.“
