The story Mei-Rin had read, no matter how it had shocked her at the beginning, remained in her mind, although she wished for it to disappear. Especially after hearing such a goodbye. Especially after hearing that strange confession.
I like you. A lot.
It was confusing. The maid hardly understood not only the situation, but even Jesse himself. Until now, she had been convinced he had disliked her, just the way she had. But then, it had turned out to be otherwise. At first, she had felt only shock. Now, although the first feeling hadn't vanished, she realized the longer she thought about it, the less she disliked the man.
After all, how can one dislike someone that much, knowing he liked them? Mei-Rin wasn't the kind of person who would enjoy holding any negative emotions towards the other.
But everytime she thought of Jesse, her thoughts immediately flew towards the story, and her cheeks became red again. He had written that. How could he have imagined such things? How could he have written them down? Had he really seen him in such a way, with him...?
At last, she decided. She had to talk to him. She had to explain some things, and hear some explanations. No matter how uncomfortable they might be.
Scared but convinced she was doing the right thing, she stood before the same door that had been slammed after her not that long ago, she took a deep breath and knocked.

Jesse sat alone, cradling the package to his chest. He had just received it from his supplier, and he didn't want people to see. He had dragged himself into the nearest, darkest alleyway to inspect his goods, and no one was going to screw it up. He opened the package up slightly. He smiled slightly. Everything was in order. Now he just had to get to his clients.
