SCORPEPPER
Be warned... this is a Scary Bugsnak! Not in the sense that it is dangerous and you wouldn’t want to encounter it, even though that is absolutely the case and it would set you on fire with little effort. Scorpepper is Scary because it is based on a ghost pepper! Just in time for October 21st, a spooky day. You may not think it is a spooky day, but just imagine 21 ghosts... jeepers!
Scorpepper is really just Weird. It is not just a ghost pepper in concept, but in practice: it is itself invisible until scanned, appearing just as a stray flame on a wall, with a scorpion-like shape somewhat visible! It certainly is weird even compared to other Bugsnax, but I wonder if anyone draws the line here. I wonder if there is anyone who thinks “Oh THAT’s it. THAT is just not realistic” and storms off in a huff.
Aside from its invisibility, Scorpepper behaves just like Scorpenyo, but despite being less visible, it is far more represented in merchandise! Here we can see it on the Lunch Bunch T-shirt design from Fangamer, and that is not all!
Scorpepper is part of the Snax Pak Pin Set as well! It And here, it is angrier than ever! You DARE make the mighty Scorpepper into a cute and compact pin design? You dare suggest it is a marketable little creature like Strabby?
Maybe this is the real reason Scorpepper is invisible! Its days as a merchandising model are in the past and it now wants to live a humble life unbothered. Sorry, Scorpepper! You are in the wrong game for that! You are a funny collectible creature in a game about catching funny creatures, and you will be swept away by a pancake’s tornado.
Really, I find it quite fun that of all creatures to be ghostly, it is a scorpion pepper! If anything I would think a jellyfish and/or a fried egg would be more fittingly “ghostly”, but Scorpepper defies expectations!
