Rape Clause Ruth has attacked the SNP over launching their manifesto "only 9 days before the election." Ruth knows exactly why the SNP postponed their launch. She is a disgusting human being.

Dr Kevin Parsons decided to move from Canada to the UK five years ago. He picked Glasgow as his home and has been employed as a university lecturer at Glasgow University. His research looks at biodiversity and last year he was rewarded over £1 million in research grants from the UK government which Dr Parsons has then utilised to also employ 4 other people. This year, Dr Parsons reapplied for a renewal of his visa. This time for indefinite leave to remain, given that he's lived in the country and paid tax for five years. He described the process as difficult as the home office continued to give him the wrong information. This resulted in a rejected visa application which means he needs to pay the £2000 or so for the visa rejection. His wife qualifies for UK citizenship and is in the process of applying and they also have a daughter who was born here. The Tories have threatened to deport this man on the 11th of June. This is coincidentally the day of his daughter's birthday party. I'm just trying to highlight for you all the utter madness of the Tories as they are swallowed up by the xenophobia and plain stupidity of UKIP. The Tories have again reaffirmed their pledge to cut immigration. On top of that, they want to try and make it more difficult for UK businesses to hire nationals from outside the EU (Until we leave the EU and they can legally make it harder to employ EU citizens.) This includes doctors, nurses and teachers. One particular aspect that is concerning me is that there's been a lot of targeting by the home office of foreign nationals living in Scotland. The Brain family had arrived from Australia and raised a son in Scotland. They had qualified to come to Scotland but when they arrived the home office simply changed the rules and tried to deport them. The same goes for a Canadian family with five children in the highlands. They owned the only store in 30 miles but have had to close down as they've tried to fight their deportation. The Scottish Tories are disgraceful when it comes to this. They have the audacity to exclaim that 'Scotland is unattractive to immigrants.' To that, I can only say maybe it would be more attractive if you stopped trying to deport them at every opportunity. This cut in immigration will do untold damage to not just Scotland's economy but the UK's as a whole. Anyone voting for the Tories is voting for this. And if you are, you mean nothing to me.
